Remarks
I wanted to pursue my MBA in international business, so I chose this college. There was a dedicated written exam for IIFT, conducted by the college itself, after that there were three rounds, GD, WAT and PI.
Course Curriculum Overview
This is the only full te course offered by IIFT. The faculty-student ratio is around 1/4 i.e. one faculty per 4 students. The teaching is quite good as we have pretty experienced teachers having industry experience or knowledge. The cases are discussed in almost all subjects. The final exams are taken after each trimester and quizzes and midterm are taken in between. In the end terms, 14 marks are compulsory out of 40 to pass.
Internships Opportunities
We had around 80 companies visited during summer placements and the same profiles as finals were offered in the summers, too. Some big recruiters were Google, Microsoft, Godrej, ITC, Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, HULetc.
Placement Experience
The final placements start in the 5th trimester. There are around 100 companies visit for the final placements and around 170 offers are made. The average package is around 19lpa and various profiles like sales & marketing, finance, prodman, operations, consulting, analytics etc are offered. We have 100% placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is average compared to top B-Schools like IIM ABC, XLRI, NMIMS etc however it is a bit higher compared to new and baby IIMs. I didn't get any scholarship. In the summer internship, I got 4000 rs per month as a stipend.
Campus Life
Campus life is quite good. We have three hostels, two inside the campus and one outside the campus. The annual fest is Quo Vadis and it is conducted in January. Apart from it, we celebrate festivals and have other fun events throughout the year. We have a huge library with 6 Bloomberg terminals and subscriptions of various journals, however, the drawback js library is not functioning 24 hrs. Classrooms have AC, whiteboard and are good enough. We don't have huge grounds at IIFT, but there is a basketball court, volleyball court and have facilities for indoor games. There are several clubs, cells and committees that work in the college, all of them are student-run.
Hostel Facilities
We had dual sharing rooms in the first year, some students also had triple sharing rooms. Mess menu used to change after every one or two months according to the demand of the students. The hostel cost was quite less.
Interview Experience
There was a group discussion. The topic was 'Is artificial intelligence boon or bane?' we had to discuss it in a group of 10. There was a written aptitude test, too with the topic of India's relationship with neighbouring countries. And after that, there was an interview. For preparation, I used to read the newspaper to get equipped with current affairs and used to read my answers to the interview after writing them.
