Glimpse at life in IIFT- Delhi

IIFT is one of the most prestigious colleges to pursue the course with the specialization in International business which really gives it an edge as the curriculum comprises of the importance of the understanding of international influences in the industries and business decisions. All the subjects have an extended course which covers the international aspects of the field. More importantly, IIFT has a great outline for Trade, and a lot of attention is paid to this domain encompassing the regulatory processes to our roles as managers in this domain.

IIFT has one of the best faculties who are proficient and have achieved great success in their fields. The faculties bring up various Case studies from the industries and even their own personal experiences that really gives great insights into the subjects.

IIFT offers great internship opportunities in the biggest brands in the country. The internships are offered across various domains with distinct roles. The students in IIFT have been involved in great projects in amazing companies which has enhanced their learnings in the domain and industry and had also opened the chances to secure PPI's and PPO's in various companies.

IIFT has one of the best placements in the country. It offers jobs across various domains ranging from Marketing, finance, consulting, trade, etc. The students are eligible for their first semester to sit for the summer placements whereas the senior students are eligible to sit for their final placements around their fifth semester. The average package for the final placements in 2020 was 20.48 LPA. IIFT has seen 100% placements every time. The highest international package for 2020 was 75 LPA. I wish to pursue a career in marketing after graduating from IIFT.

IIFT offers a good ROI to the students. The fee structure of the organization is on the lower side as compared to other B-schools and stills offers great placement opportunities in both Summer and Final Placements.

The entire academic year was conducted online due to the pandemic, however, the student body worked tirelessly to ensure the maximum student interaction in the batch. Though online, all the committees, cells, and clubs of the college have organized various events this year to ensure active participation amongst students ranging from academic events to cultural and sports events.

There were 3 processes viz. WAT, GD, and PI. The first round was WAT and the topic was related to Pollution in the National Capital Region and steps taken in the budget 2020 for the same. There was sufficient time given to the candidates to pen down all the relevant points. The next process was GD and it had 3 teachers in our panel and almost 11 to 13 candidates in 1 group. After the revelation of the topic, the students were given time to collect their thoughts, and then each student was given 1 minute to speak on their views followed by an open discussion. The topic of my GD was "Should India quit from trade agreements." The entire process was well regulated and everyone received fair chances to speak in the discussion. The topic also was relevant to that time and keeping in mind that it was IIFT, knowledge about trade agreements held strong value. Then there was a PI round with 3 panellists, who asked questions about the CV and our past experiences.
