Remarks
I decided to choose IIFT because of trade opportunities, location advantage, port visits and large alumni base. The exam was conducted on December 1st and the results were released in January. I referred to the InsideIIM website while selecting among IIFT and other colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
I decided to choose this course because of the wide international aspects it would provide me with. International Business would provide a diverse experience with respect to all the subjects. The faculty-student ratio is 5:1. All the faculty members are PhD Holders and have a lot of industry exposure.
Internships Opportunities
The internships are provided in all the Sectors from Sales and Marketing, Banking and Finance, Product Management, General Management to IT. Bajaj Auto, ITC, Godrej were some prominent companies in Sales and Marketing.
Placement Experience
The students of IIFT become eligible for campus placements from the first Semester itself. I plan to work in the Sales and Marketing Sector after my degree. I plan to start my own company in the future as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is around 17 lakhs for both years. There is an opportunity for the scholarship for the economically weaker students. I did not apply for a scholarship. The campus jobs are pretty diverse in all aspects.
Campus Life
Trade Winds was the fest conducted recently in January Quo Vadis is the fest conducted every year in the month of December. There are a lot of clubs, cells and committee are that students can take part in. The IIFT Insider is a website run by the students.
Interview Experience
My group discussion topic was on banks and the MSME sector. The essay topic was "Does Age really matter?". My interview questions were basically focused on my internships which I carried out in my B.Tech. They also asked me about my blog on Women Empowerment. I prepared for these rounds by enrolling in TIME. I also made sure to read the newspaper every day.
