Entrance Preview

I gave the IIT-JEE mains exam for getting an admission to the prestigious college named Delhi Technological University. My score was 150 in mains exam. The basic reason for choosing this college was the availability of the subject "ENGINEERING PHYSICS" as it is there in a few colleges only all over India. Also i am from Delhi itself so accommodation was never a problem.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The structure has been designed very effectively and the management have taken into account the added pressures on students due to the various societies that they join. Research facilities are provided to promote creative and out of the box thinking. We can go through the research papers of the concerned faculty on the official website of the college and approach them if we want to work with them.

Internships Opportunities

Indeed yes, our college does provide internships to students ranging from 2nd year to 4th year. The general stipend is not fixed but may vary from company to company and from student to student. E-commerce giants like amazon also provide internships and students get a stipend of about 10-15 thousand.

College Events

5

The events organised in the college are of a very grand level with a lot of students participating and going through the minute details in depth. The college organizes technical fest every year and its the time when geeks and the creative artists come out of their den and showcase their ideas to the masses. The college sends students to some of the most prestigious colleges all over India. Apart from tech fest their are cultural festivals included in the list of the events where we get a chance to get a glimpse of some of the celebs who perform at the global level. The entire ambiance of the college just transforms over the course of those few days and almost all of the societies including dramatics, dance come together and put up a great show. Finally comes the much awaited "SPORTS DAY" and gives the intelligent minds a chance to test their fitness levels and explore themselves in the field of sports as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees of the institution has grown up exponentially owing to the amount of facilities provided in the campus but it is feasible for students as the administration is quiet co-operative and understand the economical background of the students who require help i terms of fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are provided to the top ranker's of the respective departments and to girl students but from second year onward.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The changes of getting a hostel in the college have gone down owing to the increase in the number of students being admitted to the college but for the students who from other states get the hostel quiet easily. The rooms are generally shared between 2-3 people. The rooms are large enough to accommodate the number of people allotted the room. The mess food is something students get used to over a period of time but their are days when you get good tasty food even though these days don't come frequently.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of DTU is very strong and effective with the alumni's being there in not just the technical world but also the entertainment industry, authors musicians, creative artists. All this opens up the mind of the students so that they don't restrict themselves to being just engineers but also try to pursue their interests and hobbies.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is somewhat tricky as it approaches out of the box suddenly but that's fine as it makes us go through with our studies almost on a regular basis so that we don't just cram things a night before the exams and forget it a day after. The lab schedules are quiet chilled out because we have them 3 days a week and that too towards the end of the week so that we get enough time to prepare for the sessions and be ready with the files after the weekend.

Faculty

4

Not all of the faculty members are up to the mark but still most of them do work hard to make us feel comfortable with the subject. But the good thing is that we can approach any other faculty member as well to clear the doubts. Almost all of them have years of experience and are masters in their field but sometimes they don't interact with the students or maybe don't teach the way we would like to study in college.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
