Remarks

Decent rank in WBJEE(Must appear).75% aggregate in class 12 examination with PCM.90%domicile reservation. Jadavpur University is considered to be one of the top colleges not only in India (after the top 5 IITs) but also in the entire world. It offers various courses in different fields of study basically known for Engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was fascinated about pursuing ENGINEERING from the very beginning. Professors are just excellent. Managing the school exams as well as preparing for Entrance examinations was a bit tricky but manageable.

Course Fees: INR 2400 per year

Placement Experience

JU has a wonderful placement record for students of the fourth year. The highest package is 42lpa while the average is 19 lpa.80% of students become eligible for placements. More than 150 companies visit the campus. While I plan to pursue an MBA degree by giving either CAT/GRE.

Fees and Financial Aid

JU is the cheapest college in India yet provides a fantastic education. Fees are Rs. 2500 per year. There are various scholarship schemes for reserved category students (annual income is within 2 lakhs per year).

Campus Life

There are multiple clubs like E-Cell, JUSC CLUB, CHESS CLUB, MOTORSPORTS CLUB, BASKETBALL CLUB to name a few.JU offers opportunities to all the students to explore themselves apart from their studies. There are various competitions also held inside the campus. The annual fest "SANSKRITI" is held after March.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Review of Jadavpur University

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
