Remarks
A descent government college with 5085/year (you may avail few scholarships too), have a gym, NCC, NSS and other co-curricular activities. Admission is done through merit after 12 results are out. Economically best college. It is a very old college it's been more than 150 years since college exists. Reputed so everyone knows.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose it because B.com(Hons) is the quiet versatile course I'll eligible for many things so there is no one way to succeed, I'll have many ways to get a job. 100:2. All teachers are highly qualified and many have issued their own books in their respective fields. It's quite Difficult at Calcutta University but if you study nothing is difficult. And freshers have the CBCS method so you have greater aspects to earn more marks.
Placement Experience
There is no placement cell here. No company visits. No package. Not a single student getting placed. I'll be pursuing an MBA now I'm preparing CAT sidewise along with B.COM. This is a government college and it's economically good but there is no placement cell.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is an extra charge of 50 rupees for IT students and those who have a computer in their respective semester. Scholarships such as Vivekananda, aikyashree, and a few more for girls. Fee concession is also there.
Campus Life
There are events on special occasions such as independence day, republic day, Durga puja, Saraswati puja. The library is good enough and it got a wide range of books Classrooms are average with fans and lights and there is no AC. ANNUAL SPORTS EVENTS ARE HELD, nature club is there, NSS for extracurricular activities and NCC for discipline and other activities.
