PET/CET (94). I wanted to do my BE in EXTC stream and on my marks this was the best available college from Mumbai University for that stream. I was selected in the first CAP round only.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course is the same provided by Mumbai University which keeps upgrading every 4-5 years. The first year has common subjects of all branches then you've electronics focused subjects in 2nd & 3rd year mostly and Telecomm focused during your final along with mini project in 3rd year and main final project in final year.
Internships Opportunities
Internship are not provided by college itself , but any one pursuing to do an internship at any other firm can get a letter of recommendation from there respective head of department.
Placement Experience
Placements vary every year , after accreditation and grading from NBA and AICEE many new placements opportunities are expected. The current average annual package a student can get lies between 2.5 - 3 lakhs per year. IT companies are the major recruitment firms here.
College Events
There are basically 2 main events celebrated in our college. One is techinical event ICARUS held in odd sem period and other is a cultural event namely ZODIAC which is held in even sem. There is also a Academic focused event known as Innovision. Apart from that there are many small events or festive initiatives like Ganpati Sthapna , Industrial Visits , Workshops and seminars , etc.
Campus Life
Campus life is good if you are a extrovert student. You have friendly seniors as well as juniors. No ragging at all. You can participate and be a part of college fest events and committee as well as branch wise committee like IEEE, IETE, MESA etc . Sports are also encouraged and you can be a part of our college team in many sports and games like cricket, badminton, football etc.
Exam Structure
Every college has to follow the Mumbai Univerity exam pattern. That is , 2 semister exams per year and 2 mid terms or class-test in every year , of which average is taken into consideration. Majority marks (80 or sometimes 75) are based on university end sem theory paper and rest are internals.
Faculty
The faculties of Electronics and tele comm and Comps are very good as well as the qualifications and teaching experience are also good . I can not generalize good or bad over all because there are some exceptions in every college , some who take advantage of there position , rest the teaching or practicals or notes are well enough for anyone to top university if you do self study also.
