A review of IIFT

IIFT has a unique curriculum that exposes the students to the trade and international aspects of a business. It offers knowledge and experience more than any other MBA college does. The admission process starts with filling out the application which apart from basic details about you also have a set of theoretical situational questions to answer. Then there is a written test which has the basic aptitude, English, logical interpretation and General Knowledge questions. After clearing the test there is a Group Discussion, Written Ability and Personal Interview rounds. IIFT has a rich legacy of more than 50 years and it is one of the best B-schools in the country offering its kind programs is a no brainer to go for if selected.

The course at IIFT adds a new dimension to your learning over and above what the other B-schools do in the country by involving the trade and the International side of any business. This really helps in having a more holistic knowledge base and worldview. The faculty at IIFT are some of the best in the country having years and years of experience in their respective fields and also being reputed researchers. The faculty: student ratio is decent and there is ample opportunity provided for class participation and answering the student's doubts. The exams are held in a timely manner and if you pay attention during the lectures then they would be that difficult to pass as they are more application based than just rot learning.

The students are required to do an internship as a part of the curriculum. The placement team helps the students in securing the offers. The roles vary from sales and marketing, consulting, investment banking and business development. The average stipend offered for the most recent batch is Rs 1.61 Lakh.

The placements at IIFT are some of the best in the country. In 2020, there were a total of 107 recruiters that made offers to the batch of 321 students. The average CTC offered was Rs 20,48,000, meanwhile, the highest international package was Rs 75,00,000 and the highest domestic package was Rs 46,45,000. 100% of the batch gets placed through the placement process.

The fee structure at IIFT is at par with other top B-schools in the country. There are scholarships and financial assistance opportunities provided to those who meet the criteria. One of the scholarships is the OPJEMS which is eligible to the top performers in the IIFT entrance exams.

Life at the campus is very chill and fun. There are a lot of activities that take place throughout the year ranging from corporate events to cultural and sports fests. The annual cultural fest of IIFT is Quo Vadis and is held in January. There is also intersection competitions and also a proper sports fest.

The Group discussion topic that I got was on the Delhi Assembly elections and how the Aam Admi Party was performing. There were 16 people in the GD process. There was also a Written Ability test where we had to write a page on the given topic. I had to write on the topic "What if there were no Moon?". The interview is mostly based on your past career activities, job experience and current affairs. I prepared for all the rounds by giving as many mocks as possible for each aspect of the selection process.
