Entrance Preview
My college comes under IP university(Guru Gobing Singh Indraprastha University) and is known to be one of the prestigious engineering colleges of New Delhi. I took the entrance test for IP university. It was a pen and paper test with MCQs. I scored a decent rank around 5k and chose one of the best colleges falling within IP university considering factors like ranking, distance from my home, placements and faculty.
Course Curriculum Overview
A similar course structure is followed by all colleges of IP university. It is very similar to those followed in IIT's (almost copied). However, there is no emphasis on any research and the quality of knowledge on students. Most faculty members, themselves are not involved or experienced in any kind of research work.
Internships Opportunities
No. There is no provision of internships in my college. Although, students may take up internships on their own working with independent professors.
College Events
There are a no. of technical and cultural festivals organised. Festivals are divided into College and University level. Main cultural fest. Anugoonj ( IP university, all colleges participate), Xatsy (BVCOE). Other fests that are organised are by different societies such as IEEE, GDG, ISA etc. These are technical societies and organise technical fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Expensive. our college offers a $ year course. Fee for one year for my batch was 1 lakh per year. It was increased for later batches. The current batch pays 1.4 lakh per year (approximately). So the total course fee for 4 years goes to around 5.5 lakh.
Fees and Financial Aid
Some scholarships may be provided by external societies and national govt. schemes to individual students.
Exam Structure
Exams are going on for the entire year. We have 3 terms in each semester:- Sessional 1 (30 marks), Sessional 2 (30 marks), Final end semester exams (75 marks) .Labs are considered as independent subjects of 100 marks each. practical exams are held only once for each subject in a semester.
