MHRM review

MHRM is a specialization course offered by IIT Kharagpur. It is a 38-year-old programme and has delivered many great leaders in the field of HR. The curriculum is equivalent to XLRI and TISS. The faculties possess diverse experience. Also, the subjects of law and business administration are taught by the faculties of Rajiv Gandhi School of Law and Vinod Gupta school of management. The fee is 3 lakhs for the whole course and it delivers an average package of 9 lakhs that makes MHRM one of the best choices in terms of RoI.

The curriculum includes a wide range of subjects from law, psychology and business administration. The subjects of law and business administration are taught by the faculties of RGSoL and VGSOM. The curriculum is at par with colleges such as XLRI and TISS. The faculties are really supportive. The small batch size comes to an advantage as faculties can focus on each and every student of the class. The class also has a diverse pull of Students as there are Students from VGSOM, RGSOL, Btech, etc.

Companies such as Envestnet Yodly, Tata power, tata metaliks, yes bank, cognizant, Housejoy, tata steel and few others have given internship opportunities to students. All the students have begged an internship in the HR domain, and roles varying from recruitment, talent acquisition, hrbp, hr generalist, hr analyst, etc were offered.

From the third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Tata Power, IBM, ICICI bank, people strong, Capgemini, Cognizant, TCS, people strong, Yes bank, Adani power, ITIL, Gail India, Oil India, Byjus are some of the regular recruiters. Last year 14 companies visited and 14 offers were made for 14 students. The highest package was 14 lakhs with an average package of 9.2 lakhs.

Placement assistance is provided by the internal placement committee of MHRM. The whole course cost around 3lakhs excluding the hostel and mess charge. There's no direct financial assistance provided by the college.

The batch of 2020-22 is yet to be on campus. There are various committees and clubs a person can be a part of such as placement committee, media, pr and admissions committee, guest lecture committee, entrepreneurship development cell, alumni committee, and all the other committees that are authorised by the centre of IIT Kharagpur.

Different halls are assigned to boys and girls on the campus. There are single rooms and twin sharing rooms available. The meal quality is good. There are various cafeteria and restaurant on campus. All of the cafes provide food at a subsidised rate.

We had a written ability test and a personal interview. The topics of WAT were related to current affairs. My personal interview was held in IIT Bombay. It was a 40min long interview and the interviewer asked me questions from work experience, academics, general awareness, and HR specific questions to gauge interest.
