IIPE is also a good choice

I choosed this college because it is a college of national importance as IITs in India. If you got rank over 10K you can choose IIPE that also a good choice as I did and I haven't any regret for that. Admission - Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy offers admission to undergraduate courses. Admission will be done based on the marks scored in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Advanced) followed by the College-level counselling process. The detailed admission process is given below: Undergraduate course. Candidates have to appear and qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced (JEE-Advanced). Further, candidates who have qualified for JEE Advanced, have to register and participate in the IIPE (college level) counselling for seat allotment. Final admission will be based on merit, participation in the counselling process, seat allotment, document verification and fee payment. The bad aspect of this college is that-it had started in 2016 and it's first just passed out in 2020.

This course has a great future ahead in the energy sector in India as well as abroad. Govt. of India funded college in the energy sector, have great future scope as the energy market will rise. The faculty: student ratio is quite good. Faculty members are highly qualified and cooperative. Although the college is newly established and doesn't have its own campus it provides a pretty good environment.

Being an institution that is mainly focused on the petrochemical industry, thought that our internships would be limited to only the petrochemical organisations such as HPCL etc. But surprisingly there was a pretty wide variety of organisations to choose from. For petroleum engineering students, as expected, students from the petroleum engineering branch got internships from many top PSUs like GAIL, ONGC, OIL, HPCL and as far as the feedback from the petroleum students is concerned, the internships went very good. They said that the internships were not only limited to crude oil but expanded to natural gas and other disciplines of petroleum engineering. So the students were free to choose the field they were interested in and were given ample choice. For chemical engineering students, I’m actually from chemical engineering and for our branch, the internships had a good mix of different sectors, from R&D to PSUs. Most of my peers went for internships in many organisations.

Like other B.Tech degrees, we became eligible for placement from 7 semesters. The first placement was nice as per a newly established college. IIPE has director and CEOs of major oil giants like ONGC, HPCL, IOCL, GAIL, etc as it's BOARD MEMBERS! You certainly need not worry about links in the industry. One other important factor for placements is the location. Visakhapatnam is the most suitable place for the oil industry. There are refineries of PSUs like HPCL. Vizag comes under the Krishna-Godavari basin which enhances its industries even more.

Fees for BTech 150000/annum. You can apply for the scholarship that the college provided as other govt. Colleges for eg. IIITS and NITS. Criteria for scholarship Income<1 lakh-tution fee=0. 1 lakh5 lakh-tutionfee=75000.

Currently, we do not have our own campus but it would be completed by 2020. So lack of campus is covered by excellent hostel facilities better than any government college you name (Including IIT's) and the area where the hostel is situated is very strategic i.e. near kailasgiri and the beach, so the need for the campus is not that much. The hostel is super cool. Football at sharp 5:00 pm in AU north campus ground, comprising of all years players. Fc_IIPE Football club of IIPE. Inox is just close to every hostel. Flamboyant beach. If you wanna have fun then you can have as much as a full maza as you want. You can go for long drives towards Rushikonda side. For Studies no issue if you want to study then do anything else no one will force you for shitty attendance. Hostel with lax security.

Hostels are amazing at IIPE. You will have a big enough room for accommodation of two. I will be very specific about the hostels. Unlimited high-speed Wifi, Washing Machines, Common rooms with LED TVs, Table Tennis and other indoor sports. Treadmills, Aerofit Cycles for basic exercises. Attached washrooms in every room. Doctor visiting every week in the hostel. AC/Non-AC rooms. Once you get admission to IIPE, you don't have to worry about basic things like pillows, mattress, buckets, cupboards etc. These will all be provided by the hostel administration.
