Remarks
Admission through CAT/XAT. The admission process has a group task round, followed by a personal interview. Final call letters are sent in the 3rd week of March. I had filled the for 3 colleges, and among those, IMT had the best average and median package, and I wanted to take up marketing, and IMT had a big name in marketing. The college has done all in its capacity to give us the best education despite being an online platform. Regular guest lectures, cases and leadership talks are organised by the college. The placement cell works very hard and brings in big companies. Every student gets a good chance to be selected in a good company. Talking about some issues, the college hasn't shown much effort about calling its students back.
Course Curriculum Overview
I always had an interest in marketing, and that's why I chose this course. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:30. Almost all the faculties are PhDs and they use case-based teaching methodology. Exams, despite being online, were of a good level, and because of plagiarism issues, students cannot copy from their friends and can pass only if they have a good knowledge of the subjects.
Internships Opportunities
HUL, Delloite, ITC, Google, etc. are some of the big names that visit our college for summer internships. Projects may include hardcore sales, Market research or financial research. The stipend differs from company to company, but the average stipend is over 50,000.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for final placements from semester 5. Many companies visit IMT for campus placements, some of the big names are Delloite, Wipro, Tata consumer services, HUL, etc. The highest package this year has been 38 lacs/year, and the average package is around 12-13 lacs. More than 99% of students are placed on campus. I, personally want to have a career in sales after getting the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Every year the fees are increased by 1-1.5 lacs. My fees were earlier 19 lacs, but due to GOI guidelines, the college reduced it to 17.5 lacs. IMT is listed in most of the banks' list of colleges where they provide an education loan without any collateral. There is over 99% on campus placement.
Campus Life
The annual fest of IMT is Passion, which is held in the month of October/November. The annual sports fest is Chakravyuh, also called the Olympics of B-schools. The library has a great collection of books, most of them are academic. IMT has a great sports culture and sports like cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, etc. are played on campus.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are fully air conditioned. The mess serves good quality food. There is a mess committee in our college which looks after the mess menu and that the students get different types of meals throughout the week. The college is fully residential.
Interview Experience
Instead of a group discussion, we had a group task, where we all had to discuss and make a poster about five places where there is not much help for the specially-abled. After that, we had a personal interview round.
