Know The College at its Best

Things that I really like about the college is its curriculum, faculty and Placements, which are really good here. For me admission process was really very simple - you have to fill the admission form from the JIS website then just visit the college's admission cell office with your documents asked on the website, pay the admission fee of 83500/- and you will get admission according to your merit or rank. This college has a very friendly environment and it has also many fests every year. This college is also in NIRF ranking which makes it more suitable for students searching for a good college in West Bengal.

I choose this course because of more scope in the coming future. There is quite a good no. of faculty. Main Professors are with PHD and assistant Prof. are with M.Tech. But the faculty are really very helpful and friendly. There are regular exams which are just based on the things taught in class so it's easy to pass for someone who is attending classes properly.

From the 6th semester, students are eligible for placement. There are plenty of companies that visit our campus which includes TCS, IBM, Infosys, Wipro, Amazon, Reliance and more. The highest package offered is 10 lakhs and the average is around 4 LPA. Around 85% of student get placed in our branch. You have lots of option to opt for after getting a degree as you can go for masters or to join an entrepreneur club or take the job offered. My plan is for a startup if not then for masters then to take a job.

The total fee is 408000/- out of which 83500 is the admission fee and the rest is divided into 7 semesters. There is an extra fee for exams every semester which is 1200/-. There are few gov. scholarship available in college.

We have one Tech Fest named 'Kritang' and one more cultural fest. There are numerous books and journals available in the library infect you do not have to purchase any book for any semester as every book will be provided from the library. The infrastructure is not that good but it's ok as the faculty is very good. I don't like the uniform concept of the college. There are lots of computer labs for demonstration of different concepts so it's actually good for computer students. There are many social clubs like sports, tech club and more.
