EVERYTHING ABOUT SRM UNIVERSITY

I wanted to persue B.Tech in Genetic Engineering. SRM University holds a good record in the field of Genetic Engineering with experience of more than 13 years. For admission, we require to apply for SRMJEE. Based upon your result and rank in SRMJEE. Students are called for counselling. 1st 3000 rank holders receive the scholarship. In my field of genetic engineering, SRM University holds a good name and reputation. Many of its alumni are in good positions abroad. I have been through quota and SRM Website for selecting the college. Good Aspects: 1. You get strong support and opportunities from management for any kind of research, vocational, sports, arts etc. 2. SRM University faculties are good and well experienced. 3. Lab facilities are good enough. Bad Aspects: 1. The university is strict about academics. 2. You have to be sincere with your assignments, tests, attendance etc.

I was interested in Genetic Engineering as its scope in the coming future is really high. The faculty-student ratio is around 60:1. For practical it's 15:1. Almost all the faculties are PhD professors from well-known universities. You can expect exams every month. There will be 3 cycle tests and model practicals and then the semester.

In the internship, you have to search for your selves. Seniors will your best guide in the part of an internship. Some faculties can refer you to different internship scopes available. But you have to apply and get it all by yourself.

The placement percentage is quite good. Many well-known companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft etc visit campus for recruitment. The highest package recorded to be 40 LPA. Most of all the students are recruited in mass recruitment.

The fee charges are 2.5 LPA. If you score the highest CGPA in your academic year. You will receive a scholarship of Rs60,000. Other than that you will have a sports scholarship and JEE Mains rank holders receive a scholarship for the entire course duration.

The campus life is awesome. There are 2 fests: 1. AARUSH - TECH FEST and MILAN- CULTURAL FEST. Other than that you have a well accessible library, wi-fi campus, basketball, football, NCC, cricket grounds etc. You will get KFC, DOMINOS, MCDONALDS nearer to the campus.

2 dressing tables, AC, GEYSER, 2 CUPPORDS, 2 STUDY TABLES ETC. You will get both north and south Indian meal. You have a gym, beauty parlour, stationery shop, departmental store, and cafe within the hostel.

There were no GD and interview. You have to appear for SRMJEE containing Phy, Chem, Bio or Maths (optional to you). Then based on your rank and performance you will be called for counselling with all the required documents.
