S R Varun's Review On Presidency College, Bangalore

I took IIT JEE, CET, VIT and I had an option for engineering and pure science but I took this field because I had plans to pursue my MBA and hence NBA.

The course structure is pretty good but more of practical exposure would really help since it's all about interaction with people and managing people. In the third year we can choose one of the three as main field.

The college conducts fests like management fests . We also get to work in the fest and we get certificates but no stipend is given. It is not actually an internship rather just an experience to work and be a part of something other than academics.

Placements in the college are just average. Only 30 members of 120 wer placed last year. Companies like L and T ,Amazon, accenture etc come for placements. The placements is not 100% and around 20 companies came to campus. 13lakhs was the highest package offered to a BCA student. And for BBA students the average package is around 3 lakhs.

No festivals are celebrated in the college and some fests are organized. Mainly management fest and cultural fest.the participation is very low and there are some activities done by various clubs of the college like rotract club ,HR CLUB,ECO CLUB.

There is no scholarship provided by the college as per my knowledge and there is no loan facility which can be availed. They mentioned that we have all been insured but there was no details about the type of insurance or how it can be availed.

The gender ratio is approximately 3:2 where male is the majority. There is no campus life since there is no campus for one it's just one building with parking area around it. Students are no allowed into the college after 9 at least until the next hour starts.

The hostel facilities are just average and the food provided is not that good. A whole of 80000 p.a is charged for hostilities .There are around three people in a room with a bathroom for three.

The exam structure is very simple and each subject is for 100 marks of which 30 marks is alloted as internal and 70 for theory paper. The internal marks are given based many factors like attendance, assignments, weekly tests which are held every alternate week.

Most of the faculty of the college are highly qualified and have a lot of experience and knowledge about Everything that is required to be a degree level faculty. They are friendly and some teachers look and teach what is really necessary rather than only stick to and subject and syllabus.
