About GNIT Kolkata

GNIT is one of the best colleges after IITs and NITs especially for students who prefer practical learning and class learning. It is an anti-ragging campus with an eco-friendly environment having huge sports grounds, fully equipped labs and classes. The teachers here are very friendly and helpful thus students can easily communicate and share their problems and queries. Now in this period of blending learning, teachers and mentors are available for our help even on weekends and more than working hours. The online teaching here is also very effective and easy to understand. Hostel availability is also within the campus. Girls Hostel is quite clean and hygienic. My childhood dream was to pursue my studies in computer science and engineering. I am that kind of student who depends on their teachers for understanding any topic and here I feel quite comfortable as the teachers are quite amiable and teaches us with the thought of making us understand a topic in as much interesting way as possible. We have hands-on session often. During these online classes, the teachers are quite prepared with the subjects making us comfortable with online mode interaction with handy notes, recorded video lectures and query clearing through WhatsApp, emails and google classroom. The platform for online classes is smooth and less data consuming resulting inadequate amount of data save. There are two semesters in a year with two unit tests in a semester. Along with these subject teachers take now and then module wise test so it helps us deal with every module clearly.

There were many but I opted for none. Few of the internship with stiped companies are Adobe, Boat, Infosys, TCS and many more. Teachers help us to do many projects. Even we have been doing multiple projects every semester and are included in examination marks thus it made us accustomed to presentation and projects. Even college helps students with publishing Research Papers, Journals, conference papers and innovative projects.

By the end of the 6th-semester students become eligible for campus placements moreover from the 1st-semester college takes now and then exams for higher studies and job placements. 95% and above students get placed from the CSE department every year. As the college has provided both opportunities by a training session for GATE and job placements. I wish to complete my MTech from Government college/IITs/NITs. Else job for a few years.

The fees structure comparatively is quite moderate. Campusing companies are quite a lot. More than 95% of students get entered into great companies every year. Many of our alumni and alumnae are abroad for higher studies and jobs. College and Department provides a lot of training and internship opportunities information. Even for the GATE exam, they give training.

GNIT has a lot of international and national conferences, hackathons, technical fests, cultural fests and many more. The cultural and technical fest takes place in February - March and other conferences and hackathons depend on the national and international organization times. The library has a quite lot of books along with a lab to read e-books and e-journals with high-speed Wi-Fi. Yearly sports takes place in GNIT both Intra and Inter-University. GNIT Media is one of the most influential groups responsible for any kind of media coverage in the GIT and JIS group.

Rooms are quite spacious, within the campus making it secure. The Restrooms are cleaned often. Foods are provided in 4 meals with time schedule divided depending on the year and is also anti-ragging. The time slots of leaving the hostel are also fixed and to leave for a day or two must be granted by higher authority and also home guardians.

We are assigned soft-skill classes, GD classes, Technical training presentation classes for the improvement of our skills. We have a MyPerfectice portal and platform with an unlimited number of test for improvement of our aptitude, logical reasoning and all other subject knowledge.
