My college experience

There is a lot of good aspects of the university. Cotton doesn't give the student only the knowledge of books, it gives the knowledge of every domain of our society to a student. It can be said that Cotton is the most famous institute of Assam. I hear about the university since I was a child and it a dream for most of the students to study cotton. To admission process is fully based on the merit of the students. The facilities and very friendly and supportive that's why Cotton is something different from others.

I was interested in mathematics from the school days. That's why I preferred maths to take it as honours. There are nearly 15 faculties in our department and all are very friendly. They always ready to help the students in educational or personal matters. They are highly qualified and teach very smartly and interestingly. The ratio of teacher and faculties is nearly 4:1 in a class. They conducted two exams in a semester, one of which is a midterm or sessional exam and another one is the end sem or final exam. The exams are too easy as compared to the exams conducted by the other universities of India.

There is no campus placement from the university. But the university gives the student a quality, by which they can able to apply for anything. It gives a very large field in each domain the student due to which they are able to Seattle themselves as an artist or a sportsman. My plan is to continue the master degree in mathematics at this institute.

As per the order of the government of Assam passed in 2020, there is no cost to admit to our university. The students are able to apply for any scholarship. In one word the cost of study in the university is very low as compared to others.

There are many annual fests, tech fest organized in our university. The main annual fest is every week, where all the cultural, sports and all the activities are organized. There is a big central library in our university, from where the students can take the books to the home and then return it. Many social groups like the wall of humanity, cotton cycle unit etc are formed by the students to help the people and save nature.

There are four boys hostel and three girls hostel in our university. The hostel campus is too good and the cist is very low that can be able to afford by a poor student. The rooms are too big and are in very good condition. The registration process occurs during the admission time.

The admission is completely based on merit. To admit after the class 12 exam, the sum of the marks of best of three subjects are calculated. The college authority will figure out a merit list based on the marks and then the admission process occurs. The process mainly occurs in offline mode.
