Remarks

My college ranked among the top 10 of Delhi University's south campus colleges. My college is well-known for its prime location and really dedicated and hardworking faculty. The admission process of the entire Delhi University is way more simplified now and deadlines too were extended to facilitate a higher pool of well-deserving candidates. A single portal successfully allocates all DU colleges and their respective cut-offs. Though the college isn't well known for its infrastructure and small campus area, but the red coloured building still manages to stand out. Despite of a good ranking and faculty thereof, the NIRF ranking of the college isn't mentioned clearly anywhere and not a lot of people recognise the college. Despite all these odds, the education provided is top-notch and no compromises are made when it comes to this aspect. The college societies are really appreciating and help build students' resume by ensuring maximum exposure and holistic development of a student.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

BCom Hons is a course well-known and highly valued in the commerce industry. I opted for this course due to the value and a slight edge given to BCom Hons over BCom Prog. It is mandatory to have Mathematics as a subject to be eligible to apply to this course. The faculty in my college is highly experienced while most of them having PhD in their subjects and over 10 years of teaching experience. The teachers are highly supportive and easily approachable. The faculty: student ratio here is around 40:1 and every teacher tries their best to provide individual attention to students. The exams are the same all over Delhi University and the level of paper tested the practical knowledge of students gained throughout the semester. The efficiency of teaching methods of teachers however helped them achieve milestones.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements provided are average in my college. South campus isn't that well known for placements but decent ones can be grabbed. For my course, an average of 3 lacs PA. package was offered. Reputed companies visit in seek of hiring deserving young blood. Around 30%-40% of students get placed with good packages.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of Delhi University is very nominal as compared to all other universities in the country, be it private or government. The facilities and quality of education provided in this nominal fee are impeccable. Delhi University also has its criteria for providing scholarships to well-deserving candidates and one can apply to them and receive financial assistance through its official website itself. Placements at my college are average in my field since the North Campus is better known for its placements and good average annual packages but decent placements can be expected.

Campus Life

5

Owing to Covid-19 we are yet to experience campus life but from what we have heard, the life is astonishing, with tons of hangout spots nearing the campus. Fests are regularly conducted with an annual fest happening in the months of January-February. The library tends to provide almost all the books required for the respective curriculum. Classrooms are spacious and airy with all basic amenities ensuring a good learning environment. The range of sports provided is vast and University also provides admission based on Sports Quota. Various societies and clubs operate within the college in different inter-personal as well as extracurricular fields, ensuring holistic development of a student.

Other Applied Colleges

Christ University, Bangalore | Bachelor of Computer Applications

Due to some family issues, I had to withdraw my admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
