Remarks

SBSC is one of the best colleges on the South campus. It offers education in various subjects including commerce, economics, history. In the library all sorts of books articles are available. College regularly conducts seminars and have a number of societies which helps in personality development of a student. Fees here are around 8000 PA which is worth it as compared to the facilities provided by the college. It has active placements cells and students used to get good packages placement every year. The faculties are really appreciable as even in the Covid-19 period they are taking regular classes and this college has second largest commerce department in DU and presently this college has 9 academic departments including department of commerce, Economics, and Geography. Applicants need to fill the form available online and to get admission one needs to clear the cut off in the best four ND the college also offers reservations and students can also get admission on a sports ad extracurricular activity basis.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Being from a commerce background we should get more knowledge about investment market. Money is the pivot around which the economy revolves, so its study is important as the students are trained in the field of commercial banking, finance. A country like India follows a capitalistic regime wherein commerce and trade are among the top players of the economy. There are around 60-70 students in each section and 2 teachers for each subject. The faculty is excellent and experienced and helps alot to the students in clearing all their doubts and problems but they need to be quite regular because as my exams held in March the result has not come yet. Semester wise exams take place so a total of 6 semesters in BCom 2 semester each year. As DU is conducting online exams in OBE form it's quite easy to get a pass in exams as compared to the offline exams in college.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I being an online student haven't got such internship options from college yet. But as much as I know in physical classes even a fresher got so many internships from the college side. The stipend used to be near about 5000-20000. Internships are provided to the students scoring atleast 6 CGPA. Companies like the decathlon, KMPG provides internships. There is also one internship cell of SBSC namely Encode whose main aim is to establish the much-needed link between the professional world and the students of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

Placement Experience

4.5

Almost 60% of the students got placements in this course. And the highest salary package offered was 6 lakh per annum, the lowest salary package was 2.2 LPA and the average salary package offered was 3.2 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Deloitte E&Y, Infosys etc. Almost 40% of the students got internships in big four companies. The top roles that are offered in our course are financial advisory, audit assistant content writing etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are nominal i.e 7855 per year, so as scholarships are not required for most of the students. But some students are from the extremely low-income group who applied for the scholarship and got the scholarships in the form of exemption in college fees. This has proved to be very helpful to the students belonging to the lower-income groups as it has encouraged them and kept their hopes alive to continue their studies.

Campus Life

5

Fests like Nukkad Natak are conducted regularly. College is a hub of fests. Dastaan is the annual fest of SBSC in which different types of competition like quiz, sports, photography and others are organised. In this event celebrities also come and used to perform and entertain the students. I took admission in the pandemic time so not got any chance to physically attend any event but they seem to be good. The library is 2 floored and a huge one. Many societies such as dance society (Spardha) commercial financial, photography and other fields are training students for a better tomorrow. In fact, there is one society (CRIMSON) which used to organise sports events on regular basis.

Other Applied Colleges

ARSD | B.com

Bcuz SBSC have better placements than ARSD ND it's best and reputed college than many other colleges in South campus for commerce courses

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
