Remarks

My college management was fine keeping in mind the frequent incidents of violence, strikes and dharnas. However, the administration was not very supportive when it came to submitting the fee on time or providing admit cards and certificates on time. The campus life was wonderful. There was a wonderful canteen which provided food on affordable rates. There was a very big ground, a big library, an auditorium, labs and much more. However, the computer lab was not of much use and there was no wi-fi.

Entrance Preview

Students are quite pleased with the infrastructure Dyal Singh College has to offer, but while it does serve the purpose quite efficiently, there’s nothing too great about it. Equipment in laboratories don’t work sometimes, nothing apart from the principal’s cabin is air-conditioned, and there’s no internet access for students. Fortunately, the classrooms are well-ventilated, the library is quite spacious and well-stocked, and the ground is massive.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement cell of Dyal Singh isn\'t very old. It started in 2013/14, but in spite of that they have brought in companies like HDFC, EnY, TCS, SnP Capital IQ, Axis Risk Consulting, Grofers, Urban Clap, HIPR, etc. I have myself acquired a placement in one of these firms. The internships offered have been from startups as well as top companies, with stipend ranging from INR 5000 to 24000 per month. Exact percentage of placement is unknown to me but its about 75 to 85%. People did get placed last year. Their average salary is from INR 2 lakh to 4 lakh p.a. This year the economics department had its first alumni meet and the outreach was around 150 alumni students. They have been well placed and students coming from top positions at HSCBC, etc. Many have gone on to become PhD students at top Universities in the US. Many were in their post graduation phase.

College Events

4.5

Rajnigandha is the Annual Cultural Festival of Dyal Singh Evening College. It is among the most popular and well participated festivals of Delhi University. We take special care to ensure the quality of programs, discipline, hospitality and fairness. In this connection it is pertinent to mention that ours is the only festival in which Home Teams do not compete for prizes. Another attraction of our Annual Festival is special presentation by renowned artists on each of the three evenings. Special presentations in past have included concerts of renowned artists like Ustaad Salaamat Ali Khan and Ustad Adeel Khan from Pakistan, Pankaj Udhaas, Ashok Masti, Mika etc. Thousands of students from the University witness our programs on each of the three days. An eminent personality is invited to give away the prizes to the winners. Smt. Sheila Dixit, Smt. Ambika Soni, Shri Shivraj Patil, Shri Ajay Maken, Justice Vijendra Jain, Justice S.K. Mahajan and Smt. Kiran Walia have graced our festival as Chief Guest.

Course amount, B.COM(HONS.) 8,420.00, B.COM(PASS) 7,920.00, ENGLISH(HONS.) 7,920.00, POL.SC.(HONS.), 7,920.00, B.A.(PROG.), 7,920.00, For any course PWD 1,110.00, Since, I have done my graduation from this college and i aimed for mba so i really dont have much idea about the current fee , but definitely the college provides final job offer to students and this college fees is same like other university which comes under delhi govt. The fee structure ranges between INR 8,000/- to INR 10,000/- per annum. This is affordable by everyone. Variety of courses are made available to students Complete fees is refundable if the annual family income of the student is below INR 1 lakh.

Fees and Financial Aid

Several scholarships are provided for economically weaker students students with extra ordinary performances in academics & extra-curricular activities are also financially supported besides all this, the college fees itself is very less as college is affiliated to centrally funded university as such, no education loan is provided but many concessions are given tu students who really need them.

Campus Life

4

There no gender discrimination everybody is treated equally and everyone respect othes religion. The Music Society, ZEST - The Dance Society, ASTITVA - The Dramatics Society, XPOSURE the film and phototgraphy society and the debating society have been working really well and have reached great heights by bagging home a lot many prizes for the college. The sports club is also in full swing up and running and has been performing really well whether it's the football team, the basketball team, or the cricket team.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Canteen in college is pretty good. With ample seating capacity, it is the most noisy & fun place in the entire college. One can have meals at any time that too at a very nominal price canteen has many variety of products like chowmein, pasta, dosa, chole bhature, patties, spring rolls, etc. Also, off campus, one can have a nice time at cafes located just nearby to the college. Many popular cafes like Boom Box Cafe, Out Of The Box cafe, etc in Khan Market cater a lot of crowd from this college.Unlike other private institutes we have many PGs available off campuses with housing facility as well as good quality food and needs.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of the college is good and the faculty of the dyal singh college are friendly in nature and very co-operative the senior student. Gem session always a big day for me. Full of enjoyment. In the arena all were dancing and performing, Miss those days always. The alumni network is widely diverse as some students have made their careers while some of them could not do much instead of just pass out with a degree.

Exam Structure

Simulations use real-life work situations to test your in-depth knowledge and skills in a particular subject area. Some tasks you may be asked to perform include searching databases or working with spreadsheets and forms. Task-based simulations are presented after multiple-choice questions and appear on three of the exam parts: Financial Accounting and Reporting, Auditing and Attestation, and Regulation. Appearing only in the Business Environment and Concepts exam part, these tasks require you to respond in either memo or letter format to a scenario based on the topics outlined in the CSOs. You will have access to word processing to prepare your answers.

Faculty

4

The Science faculty is comparatively better than the Commerce faculty, but neither are out-of-the-world or extraordinary. The Economics faculty is singled out for special praise by the students, but they also mention the fact that some professors at Dyal Singh College are less qualified. Few professors have ego issues, and you dare not complain about them, or you’re sure to get into big big trouble. Most professors are quite nice, but then there are a few who can’t really speak English to save their lives. And of course, you have the highly experienced professors who are too senior to even stand.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
