Internship opportunities

Among all the available alternatives, I found IMT Nagpur to be the best. I've received a merit scholarship, which did act as a major catalyst to choose IMT Nagpur. The admission process was very smooth. We first had a group activity round, where a group of 8 prospective candidates divided into two teams performed together, made a presentation on a chart paper. We were given a topic that was related to pollution in Delhi. We made a presentation on a chart paper, then we took turns to present. After this we had the Personal interview round, it was a stress round in which I was asked a question about the history of my city, about the books I read, about my hobbies. There were a few questions from accounting and finance as well, cause that is my area of interest. There were volunteers in the waiting room who were briefing us about the clubs and committees and motivating us for the interview. My experience was very smooth.

Institute of Management Technology, Nagpur has a world class faculty. We have visiting faculties from top institutes as well. The professors here are very intellectual. The flipped classroom approach is usually applied here. Case study based classes are held for different lectures for a better understanding of the topics. The faculties here are highly qualified. It once happened that I saw the resume of one of our faculty and I was awestruck as she had so many degrees and so much experience. The faculties are easy to approach and they are always available for solving any grievances.

Internship opportunities are available for the students. CRISIL, Jio and other co.s offers summer internship to the students. There are various start-ups that offer internship, Voyage-the start-up internship fair is organised by the Entrepreneurship Cell Committee in association with the Placement Committee where around 20% of the batch gets their SIP sorted in just 2 days. Many companies do not offer any stipend for an internship, but the majority of the students do get an internship.

The student becomes eligible for placement in the second year of their program. The top companies that visited campus are Bain&co, Goldman Sachs, CRISIL. They offered a package of around 12-14 lacs. A major chunk of the batch gets placed by the end of the 2nd year. There are students who opt out of the process(gets placed from outside).

The fees structure for the Institute of Management Technology, Nagpur is 12 Lac. If a student gets 90 Percentile or more in CAT or XAT, they get a scholarship of 60-65 percentile. Given the fee structure, it is a wise choice. Also, the college provides scholarship to 5 students every year who are financially weak. The institute also gives merit based scholarship to the students who top in the 1st year.

The life at IMT Nagpur is amazing. During the day, everyone has classes, after that generally people go to the Learning Resource Centre for studying, solving their case studies. At night, usually, there are committee meetings/forum meetings. People are usually very busy when their committee/forums events approach. The learning resource centre in heaven for all the voracious readers. The LRC has all the latest journals, everyday newspapers, books from different genres. For sports, there are basketball court, volleyball court, football ground, cricket ground, badminton court. We also have an open gym as well as an indoor gym for all the fitness freaks. There are 7 committees in total that are responsible for the events across the year. There is an academic forum as well. We also have music, dance and other art clubs for all the artist and creative people.

There are two types of rooms, sharing and single occupancy. The room consists of a bed, an almirah, a side table and a study table. The rooms do not have air conditioning. In total it's a decent room. The mess food was much better than I expected. The quality is really really nice. There is no registration process for the hostel, one will be allotted a room when he/she goes to the campus. There is no option for renting a room or PG, as the institute offers a residential program.

There a group activity which consists of 8 prospective candidates being divided into a group of 4. We were given a topic related to pollution in Delhi. We needed to make a presentation using chart paper and colourful pens. And then present it to the panellist.
