Review on as far as I know about CIT

Calcutta Institute of Technology has a big college campus and it is situated beside NH6. Our college has its own hostel and its rooms are quite good. But as this hostel is undergoing development so it's food quality is not as good as expected and when I lived there most of the students could stay there for 1st year only because rooms number were limited then. And the best thing about our college is that it has an anti-ragging cell so ragging is prohibited.

As a student I am always interested about how computer works and coding so I chose CSE, it's my personal choice. In my class faculty and student ratio is about 1:5 (faculty : student = 7:35). Our teachers are helpful about our academic studies and mental preparation for campus recruitment. Semester exams are held after every 6 months and in each semester 4 CA and 2 PA exams are performed as per the scheduled date by MAKAUT university. Exams are mostly long questions based exams. Though in this pandemic time exams are performed under online MCQ based.

Students after the 7th semester apply for placements in many IT companies. Students get placed in companies like HCL, Infosys, TCS from our college. I would like to do my M.Tech too after getting my B.Tech degree.

For each semester students should pay 35000 Rs. (with tuition fee). Financially weak students with TFW rank have to pay 3500 Rs. per semester. Students can apply for scholarships but if he is under TFW facility then he would be unable to apply for any government scholarships.

Each year Sports week is conducted where various sports like cricket, football, volleyball etc are played. Sometimes our college faculties conduct a tree plantation event too. Along with Teachers' Day Freshers party is also conducted. College provides us with a library in which we get all course-related books at end of each semester we have to return these books to that library. Only college students can take rent other books too freely from the library book bank section for a limited period of time and if that student doesn't return that book in between that time limit then he has to pay some money as a penalty.

Boys and Girls have different hostels and Girls hostel is a long way from the college where Boys hostel is relatively close. In the hostel, each room is allotted to two students and each room has a ceiling fan, 2 beds and 2 cupboards for each student. As our hostel is going undergoing development so food quality is not as good as expected and they charge 120 Rs as each day's meal charge. In breakfast there are bread and butter, in lunch, there are rice and curry, in the afternoon they give us either egg or bread-butter and in dinner, they give us either flour bread or rice with curry. Although on Sunday they provide chicken as lunch. As the mess's foods are cooked in college canteen so dinner is delivered to the hostel by car. The registration process is simple. You just have to fill up a registration form and pay the lodging fee each semester and each month you have to pay fooding fee too. When I lived there students could stay there only for 1 year as rooms number were limited then.
