Golden days of college life at SRMVEC

I just got to know about my college(SRMVEC) through the booklet provided by Anna University at counseling. Yeah, I got my admission under the government quota. If you didn't get a seat in Counselling not to worry, management quota is also preferable. College has well-built infrastructure which is a necessity, also provides us with many facilities and exposure which makes your college life memorable. We have updated the equipment in our laboratory. Every department also has its own mini-library. Campus with multi-disciplinary courses is a place you get to know more about the outer-world well. College campus is raging free zone, seniors are friendly in nature. Most importantly college is situated near metropolitan city (Chennai) which means a greater chance of getting exposure of multinational companies meanwhile studying. I'm currently pursuing my Agriculture engineering (graduate) which sector is always in demand until the hungry dies. So no need to worry about opportunities (job). We are under the Department of Civil Engineering currently. When it comes to faculty: student ratio - 1:20, 20 students are guided by 1 faculty as a mentor. I think it's a good ratio and even gets special individual attention from our mentor. Most of the faculty had pursued their PG and PHd in prestigious universities with many years of experience as professors. So the quality of teaching is very high. Teachers are friendly and polite in nature which is for students to ask doubt and get clarified. As per Anna University norms, being an autonomous college we have 2 semesters per year (6 months = 1 semester). Every semester has 50:50 ratio (2 internals & 1 semester exam). Passing the exam is quite easy if you regularly catch up with class notes and even score good CGPA.

As every year a lot of companies visit our college and 95% percentage students every year got placed with good package, the lowest package is 3 LPA and the highest package is 8 LPA. Around 95% of the students were placed last year. The average salary offered is 5-6 LPA.

When it comes to Fees Structure, our college has two separate fees such as Students admitted through GOVT.QUOTA (Anna University counseling)-Rs.80,000/-per year Students admitted through MANAGEMENT.QUOTA-Rs.1,65,000/-per year If you took Hostel fees-Rs.1,02,500/-per year As Scholarship facilities, Free-ships by Management for Sports talented students (entire education with the hostel is free). Tuition fee concessions are given to the students of the economically backward section.

My college is fantastic (Alice in the wonderland). My freshmen years were memorable because of the friendly campus atmosphere. The campus is ragging-free. Seniors are too friendly, sometimes I forgot as I'm a junior. The library is well maintained with the latest version of book areas so available(online book sources) and network-connected desktop systems for learning purposes. We spacious classrooms and updated labs. Sports -Athletics, Basketball, Ball Badminton, Cricket, Chess, Table Tennis, etc. I'm personally present in Athletics and Chess. The annual fest is conducted at April month mostly. Tech fest are conducted based on the Departments(February). Each department has its own club, which throws events from time to time. You will get to know more, once to join. College life is the golden days that we carry as memories to the rest of life - I got those memories in my college.

Three members per room. Each one is provided with a bed, study table with chair, cupboard. We have a gym, library, reading hall, sports, even bicycles to ride within the hostel area. The menu is highly nutrition selected for students. The meal quality is good too. Warden is friendly in nature makes us feel like a home away from home. The hostel is present inside the campus, so safer area. The campus also has a hospital which is a walkable distance from the hostel. Many fast food shops, stationery shops, etc are present inside the campus even with ATM facilities. Highly recommendable. If you rented a room or PG near the area cost up to Rs. 8000 -10,000/- per month.
