I wrote PGCET and secured 41st rank. I opted for this because it was thought to be best among PGCET colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was more theoretical than practical. There was defined syllabus prescribed by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgum and out college strictly adhered to that. I don't say it was a bad thing but nothing more than that was done during the course.
Internships Opportunities
Our college did provide internship but not for all. Only some got through college others had to find on their own. I found for myself so I am not aware if the people who go through college were paid stipend or not.
Placement Experience
Placements were considerably good. Student with MBA in Marketing and Finance had good opportunity that students with MBA in HR. Marketing students got the highest package. Our College and Staff did put a good effort towards placement. Many students did get placed in good companies.
College Events
We had Annual Fests which were celebrated on a very grand scale. We took active part in conducting them both during our 1st and 2nd year and both of them were huge success. Students form many Bangalore colleges used to participate. Conducting and being part of these fests gave us a good amount of learning.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure was very feasible. There were two categories of students one who came from Government Quota and the other Management Quota. Fee for Government Quota students was very less. It was Rs. 50,000 per year. Management Quota students paid up to R. 7 lac for the complete course.
Fees and Financial Aid
I entered the college through Government Quota and my fee was very less. I never was in need of any loan so I am not aware of the loan facility offered by the college.
Campus Life
Campus life was cool. We had people from all over Karnataka who had opted for the course so had the opportunity to meet people from different places and very different background. We had good number of extra curricular activities. Our faculty was very supportive and encouraging which provided a good learning platform.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility was very good. It was among the best during our time. The Hostel fee was a little high compare to other colleges but it was worth it. Both quality and cleanliness was maintained. Very enjoyed a good variety of food. We also celebrated Hostel Fest annually which we enjoyed to the fullest.
Alumni/Alumna
We do not have a alumni network and I feel its a major set back of the past as well as present students. We did not benefit much from our seniors ans I am sure our next batches are in the same boat.
Exam Structure
Syllabus was well defined and our exams were strictly based on the syllabus. Nothing much other than the syllabus was asked in the exam. But our syllabus was vast and the content was good enough. It was difficult for a person to fail but at the same time very difficult to score very high.
Faculty
Faculty was good. As it is true with every college some very exteremly good and some were not. All that mattered to us was our HOD. He was a very good at academics but not good at imparting practical learning. More importance was given to studying the syllabus and scoring in the exam rather than actual learning.
