Remarks
This is a central government college which is providing Best education and exposure in a very less fees as compared to others. Moreover, the placement opportunities are many. The admission process starts with An entrance exam for Lateral entry students followed by all India Rank and then Merit. YouTube helps in preparing the topics for the exam. Collegedunia.com was very helpful for me in selecting this particular college amongst many colleges by providing me crystal clear insight. Good aspects: the college culture is very diverse and it shows in the education it provides too. Having former ISRO director Dr K Radhakrishnan sir as director helps this college to have a very diverse and progressive outlook for its students. Cons: there is nothing in particular. Just the location of the college is too remote which creates its own problems for students leaving for home as the bus to railway station leaves only on some specific time.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college provides a huge number of graduate, postgraduate and PhD courses in almost every branch of Engineering. I am pursuing BE in Mechanical Engineering which is considered among one of the best courses provided by the college. The faculty is well versed and very senior inexperienced with always having innovative ideas to teach in mind. Even in lockdown, the classes are going very smoothly, all thanks to the dedicated teachers. The faculty-student ratio is 1:40 ie. 1 teacher for 40 students. The evaluation includes regular assignments and quizzes along with tests. Minor exams happen twice in a term and major once. The exam questions comes not directly from the teachers notes but from the books which is normal for any engineering student. It also shows the teaching methodology of teacher that they prepare us for any test on that topic.
Placement Experience
The placement is good. I am in the second year so not knowing much about the placements but from the website, it is known that many tech giants like Mahindra, Godrej and Daikin along with Infosys visit regularly the college and provides good packages to worthy students. It is on the website of college that almost 80% of the students gets placed every year with decent packages in hand.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for one term of 6 months is 31000. The college also provides financial assistance to the meritorious students who are financially weak. The assistance includes the tution fee waiver. The college has an excellent placement record with the big tech giants like Mahindra, Godrej, Daikin, Infosys etc coming regularly and hiring students on good packages. Fee hike doesn't occur on a regular basis as it is a central government college.
Campus Life
The college campus is huge (Literally). The campus is spread in an area of 480 hectares. It consists of swimming pool, gym, musical rooms as well as most of the Indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The annual technical festival techFEST provides a platform for over 1000 eyeballs to witness a magnificent fusion of science and technology with pure delight. It happens for a span of two days in March (mostly on 14th and 15th March). Apart from tech fest the campus also has a social fest with the motto of 'engage, motivate and Empowerment of youth' happening in April every year. The college has many tech as well as non-tech societies which includes the Automobile society (Junkyard warriors and team Juggernaut), Photography society, Dance as well as Bhangra society (The happy Club) and the debate societies. They help in the overall development of a student. The college has also an NCC army wing which helps to keep the students motivated and disciplined.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel room includes a bed, study table fan and water cooler. The mess is a state of the art that provides a delicious and healthy meal for students. The meal is vegetarian. Apart from the meal, milk and tea are also provided along with snacks in the morning and evening. The menu changes every day and offers great variety. For registration in a hostel, the students need to apply early as it gets filled fast. The registration fees are 7000 for a hostel for a year and for the mess it's 25000 per year.
