NMIMS Mumbai at Glance

NMIMS is one of the premier B-Schools in the country with a wide variety of opportunities and a rich alumni base. It is located in the heart of the financial capital of India and attracts a major hub of recruiters. Its admission process includes the NMAT exam and CD/PI. Generally, the NMAT exams are over by January and by mid-January, the call for CD/PI is announced. During the month of February, the CD/PI process happens and by the end of February, the final shortlist is announced.

The course is very rich and gives a hands-on experience in the business world. The pedagogy is case-based and NMIMS has top-notch faculties of the country with a rich experience in teaching as well as in the industry. The MBA core course is the flagship course of this campus. The faculties are easily approachable and very practical in terms of their teaching method. The minimum attendance required is 80% and the course has 6 trimesters spread equally across 2 years. 3 exams are conducted each year.

NMIMS brings a lot of opportunities to campus for an internship, there are a lot of leadership roles being opened at the campus for the summer internship which are the flagships opportunities. The average stipend is around 1.2 lakhs. The internship roles are around Sales & Marketing, Finance, Operations, Consulting and General Management.

After entering the college, the hustle for the placements start within a month, we are asked to prepare our CVs and apart from that several competitions start coming at the campus, either we can sit at placements and get an offer or we can win a competition to get one, several competitions offer PPI(Pre Placement Interview) and PPO(Pre Placement Offer). After 2 months companies start coming to campus and the interview process starts. The companies visit at college is all the top players in their field offering various roles in different domains. The average package is around 18 lakhs CTC and the highest goes to around 53 lakhs CTC. There are ample opportunities coming at the campus, we just need to be prepared to grab one as soon as it comes to us because of the batch strength, the competition is high. NMIMS is able to achieve 100% placement.

The fees structure is approximately 10 lakhs 50 thousand for each year for the 2-year course. There is a scholarship policy for the top NMAT scorers in the college which is communicated by the college. There is a slight fee increase in the course every year, but NMIMS is a top BSchool and the opportunities you get here is equally justified.

The campus is located at the heart of Mumbai and the social life is best at NMIMS because of the crowd it attracts. They are numerous fest at NMIMS and their flagship annual fest is one of its kind and attracts a lot of celebrity, it is conducted in the month of February. NMIMS has its own library which is one of the biggest libraries and has all kind of books and journals. The classrooms are fully furnished with all the amenities and smart boards. the whole campus is centrally air-conditioned. There are a lot of cells and clubs with all kind of functions necessary for a B School to run.

After clearing the NMAT cut-off students are called for the CD/PI process in the month of February. The 1st process is the Case Discussion where a group of 7-10 students are formed as a group and a case is provided, we are given some time to read the case and it is suggested to form some points which can be helpful inputs and mark your presence in the group. I prepared it by keeping myself updated with the recent current affairs, attempting mock CD/PI and improving my communication skills. After the Case Discussion, we are called for the Personal Interview with a panel of 3. Generally, they are the faculties of the college. The PI is majorly based on the resume which I presented to them and hygiene HR questions. It is important to know in and out what is written in your CV and current happenings around yourself.
