Honest Review of NIST College

The admission criteria for undergraduate programs at NIST College include the performance at 12th i.e one should pass 12th grade from any board then according to JEE Mains score the college takes the admission into respective branches. One has to pay the registration fee that is around 20K. He/she will receive a receipt from the college. If the student applying for NIST gets admission into the college, the 20K will be included in the fees. I preferred this college because of the placements and the interesting other circular activities. The placements of this college are quite satisfying.

In a year, the total number of working months is 8. I chose Computer Science and Engineering as my branch because there are many companies who recruit students from the Computer Science branch. The faculty is members are adequately qualified and supportive. They help with all the queries. There are two semesters in one academic year and each semester has 2 exams. One of them is a mid-semester exam and the other one ends the semester exam. In each semester there are 2 assignments. The exams are not that difficult if one pays attention in the classes and revises the notes properly.

Yes, the college offers internships. In fact, in the 4th year, every student must have an internship certificate. Infosys, TC, Wipro, Tech Mahindra etc. companies offer an internship to the students. Few of them are paid internships whereas few are unpaid internships.

Students will be eligible for campus placements from 4th year. Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Vedanta, Tata Steel, Paytm, Tech Mahindra are a few of the renowned companies that hire students from NIST college. About 80% of students are placed every year. Students can also opt for off-campus companies like amazon. In the year 2019, a student from NIST college got placed on amazon and the package offered was 28 LKP. In 2019, the highest package offered on-campus was 18.5 LKP and off-campus was 28 LKP. There are a number of financial assistance provided by the college. The college approves all the scholarship which are provided by the government. The students also have many opportunities to work with the faculty for which they will be paid. There are a lot of scholarships so naming them is not possible but once a student takes admission to the college, he/she will receive all the information through the mail.

The campus life at NIST is quite exciting. Tech fest is conducted once a year. There are a lot of clubs at NIST college. Students are allowed to be a member of any club from 2nd year onwards. The library is huge and students are allowed to study as long as they want to in the library. NIST doesn't only focus on academics but the overall personality development of all student. Events such as flash mob, music events are conducted frequently to entertain the students and these events are conducted by the respective club members.

Hostel rooms are spacious and three to four students are accommodated in each room. If a student scores well in 1st year, he/she can also opt for individual rooms in the 2nd year. The hostel has common bathrooms. Each floor has 2 to 3 common bathrooms. The bathrooms are clean and maintained. The hostel food is not that satisfactory, especially the breakfast and lunch. Sometimes the food reaches the mess very late. AC rooms are also available at NIST college. If anyone wants to rent a room or stay in the apartment, he/she has to take the room in the main city because the college is on the highway and far from the main city.
