Remarks
The university has a great and green campus. The merit at the time of admission was comparatively higher than other universities. It also has a very good international exposure. The placement record was above average as compared to other universities. It also has the hostel facilities (there are separate hostels for girls inside the campus which seems to be more safe and secured) and also many on rent flats are available in nearby area.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for CE and the course curriculum is not that bad. 1st year have the common subjects of all types of engineering and later on from 2nd year specialization subjects starts. Student ratio will be roughly 1:4 (boy:girl). A good quality facilities are there here. Teaching methods are great which includes digital methods and labs. Overall evaluation includes 25% Internal Evaluation, 25% Mid semester exam, 50% End semester exam. With a positive environment of people, it is not much difficult to pass the exams.
Placement Experience
Campus Placements are available here. Petroleum engineering has the highest placement with 100% and the packages are till 40-50 LPA. For other engineering streams the average package will be around 7-10 LPA (not sure). The highest package for CE ranges around 30 LPA.
College Events
Life at campus is very enjoyable. All the facilities are available here like hostel, mess, canteen, AC classrooms and labs, libraries, etc. According to the school (SOT, SPT, SLS, SPM), different festivals are conducted. We also have a combined sports festival entitled FLARE in the month of February. For each specialization subjects, clubs are there to explore which also includes some non-academical clubs like for marketing knowledge, competitive programming, competitive curbing, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees for 1 year looks like: 2,26,000 tuition fees + 42,000 mess fees + 80,000 hostel fees. For scholarship, schemes available is MYSY (don't have much idea about others). Also top 7 students of each branch gets scholarship from the University. Campus Placement is available here with above average stipend and specially for petroleum engineering, excellent stipend.
Hostel Facilities
Both hostel and rented accommodation are available. Hostel facilities are one of the finest here. A room is shared by 2 students which has facilities like 2 study table, 2 cupboards, AC, etc. Food time table contains 4 time meals: breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Varieties of food is available and also a separate counter is there for NRI students. Any time after the admission can a student go for hostel and mess registration.
Admission
No, there was no GD/PI. The criteria for admission was 50% by JEE and 50% by ACPC. Interested candidates need to fill up the form on their website. After that a merit list is finalised and accordingly merit rank is provided. In this the evaluation is done by the JEE rank and board percentage. For ACPC, Gujarat government has this system where an entrance exam is taken for all the students of Gujarat named GUJCET. And also the board marks are taken into consideration. The category reservation criteria is also there. As the vacancies are there, admission rounds continues till 3-5 rounds.
