Underrated college

I chose this college since it's close to my home. Another reason is due to good infrastructure, student friendly qualified staff who is always there to guide whenever asked for. Good environment best for ones who studies well. Supports cultural traditions music dance, sports etc. Not suited for ones who love to party or bunk classes and have fun throughout. I have written common entrance test to get seat to this college. I have referred the official college websites as well as websites like shiksha while selecting this college.

I chose this course because of my interest towards machine and automobiles. Faculties are around15-20 faculties and students about 100 each branch from a single year. Faculties are well qualified with pHD and few pursuing pHD having more than 6+ years of teaching experience. Teaching is best I feel compared to other colleges. There were 3 sessionals held in 2nd month 4th month and 5th month in a semester and one end semester exam at the 6th month. Most of the subjects are very easy to pass though few are difficult since the paper set by the University and not the college.

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visit are Infosys, TCS, Mindtree, Specbee, Tayana, Manipal Technologies, Resguardo, Talentio, Chegg and many more. Highest package as per company was about 7L per annum and average package of about 2.5-3L per annum. About 70-80% of the students get placed in one or the other company. I'm pursuing higher studies after getting the degree.

Life at campus is a homely experience so few may or may not like that. The name of the annual fest is Varnotsava which is an intercollegiate technical and cultural fest which is usually conducted on March every year. There are lots of books and ebooks and journals in library there is free access to library online in the campus as well. Sports encouraged are cricket, kabbadi, handball, volleyball, basketball, badminton and throw ball for girls along with indoor games like chess, carrom, table tennis. There are technical clubs for each department as well as social groups like NSS and Roteract club there is IIOT club, SAE club etc.

The fee structure when I joined was a total of 78k per year excluding transportation. Scholarships are provided for reserved caste and ones who have less income like e-pass scholarship. Since I was a middle class unreserved caste so wasn't eligible to avail any scholarship. I was selected as graduate engineer trainee in Manipal Technologies Ltd with a stipend of 17k per month for the first one year.
