The world is a big place, and I thought attending a big school would better prepare me for life in the real world. My university has a very strong school of sciences, and I wanted to study under the best minds in the country. It also offered the specialization I was seeking, and I wanted to fast track my education.I chose to go to a large university because I wanted to maximize my post-college opportunities while still in school. We have a vast alumni network, and this helped me land a great summer internship.
Course Curriculum Overview
The academic curriculum in many universities is determined in part by the faculty staff, with courses derived from their areas of expertise. As research responds to innovation and change, so courses follow. However, faculty also respond to a variety of other influences on the curriculum. There has always been a close link between higher education and the requirements of professional work, and this tends to influence the inclusion of high-level transferable skills, such as problem-solving, information analysis, learning to learn, and communication in general, rather than specific content. Where students personally pay a high proportion of the costs of teaching, HE behaves more like a consumer-oriented business, and works to attract students by offering high-demand courses, especially in business and IT, thereby creating a further pressure on the curriculum. The role of government varies in different countries but, wherever it does play a role, universities are urged to respond to the requirements of the knowledge society and provide graduates with the IT skills they will need in all walks of life, no matter what their discipline qualification. The expectations of graduate skills are therefore strongly affected by the increase in technology in research, in culture, and at work.
Internships Opportunities
It used to be that a college education in itself was enough to guarantee you a high-paying job immediately after graduation. But with more and more Americans choosing to attend college, a degree alone unfortunately doesnt cut it anymore. Increasingly, employers expect you to have internship experience so that you come to your first job out of school ready to hit the ground running. We know that getting one can be tough, though which is why we have come up with a guide containing everything you need to know about how to get an internship.
Placement Experience
Campus placements provide the students with a foot-in- the-door opportunity, enabling them to start off their career right after they have completed their course curriculum. Furthermore, they get to interact and engage with the industry professionals during the placement drives, which further help lay a foundation for their prospective career in the future as they familiarise with potential contacts from their chosen career field.Placements have gradually become an integral part of an instituteäó»s offerings, which was not the scenario earlier. Nowadays, students pay special attention to placement records while selecting a college or university for the admission. And it is rightly so, if a student is paying huge amount of parentsäó» hard-earned money as fees to the institutes/universities, he/she has the right to calculate the rOi (return on investment), which in this case is a lucrative job.

Fee Structure And Facilities
There are a huge range of scholarship opportunities available for university students across the world, ranging from partial scholarships which cover some tuition fees, to full scholarships which cover the duration of your studies. The majority of scholarships cover tuition fees only, leaving students to cover their own living costs. There are also many different types of scholarships for international students from certain regions, or even students studying in a certain field. For instance, many students from developing countries, including parts of Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, can apply for specific scholarships, as can many students from all over the world looking to study in a STEM-related field (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
Hostel Facilities
Hostels, on the other hand, are more of a middle ground between hotels and dorm rooms. They often provide bunks within shared rooms and the people who stay there have access to shared bathrooms and communal spaces. Hostel management teams sometimes put on events such as pub crawls or general entertainment outings, but the social aspect is far more community-led than management hosted. Of course, hotels and Airbnbs are also alternatives, but they become fairly expensive over time and are rarely suited for long-term stays.
Admission
Some B-schools organise a case discussion instead of a simple group discussion. A case-study simulates a real-life situation and instills in you the thought process and action plans to get the best possible solution. There may not be any wrong or perfect solutions to a case study, but there is definitely a best possible solution, which the group is expected to collectively arrive at.Both the above mentioned tools evaluate some basic personality traits such as clarity of thought, communication (including listening) skills, ability to critically evaluate and ability to interact in a group. The most recent addition to the second stage of selection at MBA colleges has been essay writing. A well-written essay gives the selectors an opportunity to assess the candidates' ability to organize, develop, and express ideas about the issue presented; provide relevant supporting reasons and examples, and control the elements of standard written English.A personal interview is the last step to get to know the candidate well. Personality traits that cannot be uncovered through the first three tools are evaluated here. The selectors try to understand the kind of person the candidate is, what are his/her interests, motivation, aspirations, etc.
