Remarks
College of agriculture is a Very traditional and Old college. Highly disciplined environment and various programmes and scopes for improvement. Functions throughout the year, too much fun. The college exams are highly competitive and too much burden. With more than 9+ subjects each semester, you have to appear in the exams without any gap. For Admission, you have to appear in separate OUAT entrance exams. Your rank will be based on the aggregate of your entrance mark(50%) and both board's exams percentage with each 25% mark.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this as this was a line of my interest. Faculties are very much friendly and helpful all with your studies and field activities. The student's teacher ratio can count approx.1:35. The terms exams are quite tiring. With a zero-day gap, you have to appear 2 subjects each day for mid-term and 1 subject each day during the semester. But anyhow trust me You can pass with flying colors.
Internships Opportunities
We have RAWE for the fieldwork where we go to the field and interact with the farmers and their crops and try to find out their various methods and ways of growing crops. Work with them helps them in their work and the duration is 2 months and gets paid for those two months. Then we have ELP where we have to visit the industry and see how these industries work. And get paid for these visits and projects.
Placement Experience
7th-semester students are eligible for the campus selection. Various seed companies, chemical companies, fertilizer companies, steel companies, vehicle companies, private banks, etc have visited the campus for placement purposes. The average package of 4-5lac per year. Most students prepare for competitive exams and for PG exams... Very few go for the placement. My plan will be to prepare for the competitive exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee Structure as per govt college is not that much impressive.. the cost-sharing and NRI seats are much more than the free seats and had to pay around 1 lac and 3 lac approx per year respectively. Scholarships are like you have to be very much attentive and have to take a round of your college office each day then only you can find the info about the scholarship.
Campus Life
Classrooms are quite good with fully air-conditioned and smart boards. Annually there are many events and functions which is very much of good news... But the worst part is there is hardly any clubs and extracurricular activities scope. The library is quite a good one... You won't find any difficulty in finding journals and books.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is quite cheap.. given a large room where three people can live without any complaints. They're not many facilities but Trust me the hostel Life is quite funny that you won't feel any difference.. meal quality is great as the mess is run by the students. For registration, You have to apply at the UG office with the permission of DSW and the superintendent of the respective hostel. But prefer PG over hostels will be a real loss for you... As you will be paying them to rent of around 6-7k per month. So about 75-85k per year will be your expenditure which is much much expensive as compared to Hostel. The best thing about the Hostel meal is if you are eating outside you can off your meal and that amount of money will be deducted from the mess bill next time you pay the bill. So Go for the hostels.
