IIMV review

The admission process will go through 3 phases. 1. Shortlist based on fulfilling minimum criteria in CAT. 2. Interview shortlist will release beaded on different factors like 10th, 12th, graduation, gender/nonengineering, work ex, and CAT score. The highest weightage will be given to graduation percentage. If you have a good percentage in graduation you have good chances. Also if you are from Non- engineering background or girl you will get free 20 marks. 3. Interview and final shortlist will be the third phase. This Admission process will begin around March. By the time students will be done with many interviews. According to those interview feedbacks, you can choose a college. Though it's baby IIM it is growing very fast. So students can choose it over many second-gen IIMs.

It is following a trimester pattern. The course packed with all domain subjects in 1st two terms, followed by electives in next terms. Students will get clarity in choosing their interested domains in the first 2 terms. According to it, they will choose elective subjects from the 3rd term. Faculty are newly recruiting and there are few visiting faculty from top B schools and IIMs. Faculty to student ratio also very good with 1:9. Because of the low batch size, it is easy for the faculty to concentrate on everyone. Exams criteria and everything will be decided by faculty only. Most of the time they are good and consider student learning.

IIMV providing summer internships also. The current year 2020-22 batch achieved 100% placement in summers. The average stipend for summers stood at 62000+ which is 20% more than last year. There is diversity in profiles and roles offered by the companies. Most of the batch selected for finance and marketing domains. Total 52 companies participated in the placement process this year. There are few prominent companies like ICICI LOMBARD, Lubrizol, Bosch, Yes Bank, MTR.. etc.

The placements are good. Though it's baby IIM it is giving tough competition to new IIMs also. In the past 5 years, it achieved 100% placements. The average stipend stood at 13+ Lpa. This year also IIMV achieved 100% placements with more than 100 companies participated in for placement process. Many prominent new recruiters participated this year. Few students got PPO offers from prestigious organizations.

The fee has to be paid on each term starting. There will be a hike every year. For the current year, the fee is 2,27,500 i.e. program fee. Also, the student has to pay 25,000 per term as a mess fee. Program fee includes all facilities like hostel, travel, Xerox, college fee. In the first term, you have to pay an extra 25,000 as an advance and caution deposit, Which will be returned after two years of MBA. There are few scholarships provide based on academic performance as director merit list. Also for economically backward people will be interviewed by the college committee and fee deduction will be given based on the severity of their condition.

Every year there are 4 flagship events conducted by various clubs and clusters. Hridaya - conducted by HRbclub of IIMV. Prominent HR leaders will participate in it and share their experiences and talk on the theme provided to them. Sangram- It is a sports event that will be held common for all 4 south IIMs of Trichy, kozikode, Banglore and vizag. All students will participate and win medals and trophies. This event organized in Trichy, Banglore, kozikode alternatively. Vriddhi- Business fest of IIMV. It includes all 7 business cluster clubs. There will be different events planned in it like panel discussion, competitions, and so many. Samaarambh- It is a cultural fest of IIMV. Biggest festival for students where there will be many fun activities, fashion show, musical nights and many more filler events. Student will participate with most enthusiasm.

Currently, it is running on a transit campus. So there are 4 hostels taken by the college. One is the beach hostel it is very nice. You can see the beach everyday from the balcony. Hostel facilities are also very good. There is all kind of facilities like fridge, washing machine, AC in the hostels. Food also good compared to many hostels, food will be delivered by 4-star restaurant.
