Remarks
VIT is one of the best Private Institutions for B.tech in India. We get an option to choose our own faculty. The placements are good. And in the Bhopal Campus of VIT, we get a 100 percent doctoral faculty. The Bhopal campus is located in Central part of India unlike the other campuses located in the Southern part. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the VITEEE exam got cancelled and we got our ranks on the basis of JEE mains and +2 grades.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to be a software engineer from the start and hence I chose B.tech in Computer Science and Engineering. The faculty is to student ratio is maximum up to 80 students per faculty. We get an option to study from our own choice of faculty. In Bhopal campus of VIT, we get a 100 percent doctoral faculty. There are supposed to be 3 exams per semester but due to Covid-19 pandemic and online classes, we had to appear 2 exams per semester and the difficulty of exam varies as per the faculty.
Internships Opportunities
We can enroll for internships from second year. We get on campus internships. As I am a first year student, I don't know much about the internship program of our college but as stated by seniors, we get partial credits for internships too.
Placement Experience
From 3rd year we can seek employment opportunities on campus. Many big companies like Infosys, Amazon and Microsoft visit the college for placements. As the Bhopal campus is still very new, for our placements we will have to go to the Vellore campus. And the placement record in the Vellore campus is very good.
Fees and Financial Aid
As my rank was not that good, I did not get any scholarships. But still I managed to get myself admitted in the Category 1. The fees here is Category wise and our category depends on our rank. Category 1 refers to lowest fees and Category 5 refers to highest fees.
Campus Life
As we are in a situation of pandemic, we still have got no chance to visit our campus yet. But as said by our seniors, the campus is full of greenery and the hostel rooms are very clean and tidy and the mess food is quite good. There are not many buildings as the college is still very new.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel cost varies according to the room. We, as freshers get an option of double bed ac room to 6 bed ac room. Each hostel block has its common room. As we have not visited the hostel yet, I cannot say much about the hostel right now. As stated by our seniors, the mess food is quite good and there's a good variety of food.
Interview Experience
Usually VITEEE, an entrance exam for VIT, is conducted to get admission into all the 4 campuses currently. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our exams were cancelled and we got admissions through our JEE mains results and +2 percentage.
