I took AIEEE in 2008 and I scored an AIR of 8738. I opted for this college because of the place this college is situated in. Surat is an amazing city and after entering into college I found it amazing.

Course curriculum is equally weighted in all streams with special focus on projects and seminars.

My college does not provide any internship.

Placement Experience

Placements are superb for students securing good marks in exams, average for students securing average marks in exams and there was no job offer for students securing below average marks in exams.

College Events

There were many events in college as listed below. Autofest - Technical, Entru meet, Techno-managerial, Kashish - Cultural, Sparsh - Cultural and many more frequent events, quizzes, rock-fests etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee-structure at my time was very much feasible and easy. Recently there has been a hike in fees and it has become expensive now. but it is same with all the other NITs.

Although i did not avail any scholarship facility but my college does provide scholarship facility for poor students / category students.

Campus Life

Campus life is the most happening thing of college. Campus environment is beautiful and lush green plants are spread all over the places. Gender ratio is not that good but it is manageable. Sports competitions need to be increased in frequency and more sports need to be added as only Cricket, Basketball and Badminton is available in campus and volleyball is playable for some part of the year.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not stable for this college and senior students are not playing their role in developing alumni base of college.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is somewhat good but needs improvements in terms of flexibility.

Faculty

Faculty was little bit on a lower side in terms of teaching quality and dedication.

Placements are good. Students are eligilble for campus placements from 7th semester. The highest package is 2100000 and the lowest is 200000. The median package is 3.5 to 4.5 lakhs per year. From last two years there was 100% placements but usually its 90%. I plan to pursue pg after this degree in either mtech or mba.

In our college placement starts from 7th semester and students are eligible from the 7th semester. The highest package is around 21 lakh and avg package is 3.5 to 4 lakhs(companies are tcs , tatvasoft , argusoft , IBM etc.) many students get placement like more than 50 % my simple plan is to get a good job from campus placement and do job after my graduation.

Inside SVNIT: A students’s UNFILTERED view

Honestly, i had applied so many NITs but due to my average score in JEE MAINS , i was getting only SVNIT and some Northen east NITs I did not choose other NITs as they are very far apart from my home state. SVNIT -The best for Transportation engineering

I chose SVNIT just because this is one of the best college for transportation engineering. Surat is the best city for seeing the development which is being carried out and a great infrastructure is also available. Great college for exploring and learning.

I had a very good jee mains rank and was getting in every nit and iiits admission in some branches but still i choose this because i had interest in coding and ai.
