Remarks

Goenka college had's a very good reputation and has a very good quality of students.If a student gives priority to studies then Goenka is a big yes and it is for middle class and studious people not for rich people.

Entrance Preview

I scored 86% in best four subjects in class 12 results from West Bengal Board. This college has a very good environment when it comes to studies and the respect which a Goenkian gets cant be expressed in words

Course Curriculum Overview

Affiliated to Calcutta University and it offers only commerce degree like b.com ,m.com and recently started MBA programme also for which student need to appear for MAT.

Internships Opportunities

College does not provide Internship but provides campus placement to 3rd year students in banks and big corporate like L&T ,federal bank etc.

Placement is very good in 3rd year itself companies comes for placement but student must have a good knowledge companies like L&T,Hdfc bank hires b.com graduates from this campus itself.

College Events

Quest is the annual and biggest function organized by student union in the month of September U-Calpso is organized every year in February Saraswati Puja is organised in a grand way in college Fresher's party is also organised.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is 100% Govt college and admission is only on the basis of merit Fees is 85/-per month less than 1500 per year but you need to pay 850 per year to students union for Fest.

Scholarship id being provided by various NGOs to college students(specially for girls).

Campus Life

Gender ratio-equal (boys and girls) total 120 seats in morning session(including quota system) Goenka morning has Non bengali crowd and students from good background Race religion is not the criteria and No ragging in college Economically it for middle class and for studious people not for rich people College union student support TMC party but they dont force any student to join politics. Goenka morning has ca cs student mostly and maximum marwari students.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel and food facility is not available in college nearby areas have good PG and food accommodation at a very reasonable price.

Seniors are very down to earth and very helpful seniors are mostly into job or in practice as a CA CS etc.

Internal exam is conducted once in a year and University exam happens once in a year overall it is nt at all tough

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
