The Autonomous College at its best. MADRAS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE is known for its well-organized alumni network and its resourceful faculties. It's a 184 years old college built by Rev. John Anderson, a Scottish missionary. It's a 365-acre scrub jungle that has a Farm consists of a piggery unit also. I belong to the Mathematics department.The department is one of the oldest ones. It is good and the staffs are quite cool. Amidst the pandemic, the staffs are so dedicated to working with patience for the betterment of students. The college has no such heavy rules but in my department, the students have to be in a decent outfit. The college ranks top 10 in all sorts of programmes. Its hall system and the College union society are the decision making student bodies across the college.The college has a well-equipped library with e-learning resources.The exam result server in the college is a major drawback .The canteen facilities are good .Overall one of the best liberal arts and science college in Tamilnadu.

I was good at Math at my school level so I chose Math as major. The college consists 50:50 male-female student ratio. The faculties are highly qualified. Most of them are MCCians and some did their studies at IIT and some elite institutes. They follow a good pedagogy and organized internals will happen at certain intervals. The syllabus is vast compared to other colleges but a bit tougher for subjects like abstract algebra.The concepts are important. If you want to do deep mathematical learning then go for the course.The exams are mediocre.

From semester 6 they're eligible to attend campus. MNC's like Wipro ,Cognizant ,RBS will recruit students . The average package is 3 LPA and the highest is 3.5 LPA. Many people don't go for placement here rather they go for higher studies.

Government scholarships are awarded to the students and the college has many scholarships for deserved students. The college has a placement cell with a well resourceful Placement officer. MNC's like Wipro ,Cognizant ,MRF hire students with skills . Average salary package is 3 LPA

Deepwoods is an annual cultural fest. It holds a lite music and rock show .Masala coffee ,Junkyard groove ,are the some of bands performed here .The college union society has a Convenor for L& D events whose work is to conduct L&D competitions during deepwoods and College auditions .He also co-ordinates the Theatre club and Readers club which is recently inaugurated. Theatre club named Theatre No:59 is famous here . Actor Roshan Matthew a great star in Malluwood is a product of this club and one of the founding members of the club.

I stayed in St.Thomas's hall which is one of the men's residential hall. Each hall is more or like the halls of residence in Cambridge like following a constitution for management.The halls of residence hold a student body for administration. Wardens in MCC are the coolest persons ever they go and consult with the student cabinets' decisions. For fundraising, we used to conduct cultural events named "UTSAV". In men's hall, every person is given an individual room with a cot but in women's hall, they're given with 3 sharing facilities. The menu and the quality of food are good.The process of admission is online and it's tougher to grab a room in hall.
