Remarks

KGEC is a mix of some good stuff and some bad if you want to enjoy your college life then its the best place where you can explore so many things I LOVE MY COLLEGE.

Entrance Preview

I took WBJEE i dont know the score..They only give us rank. And my rank general was 12576 in my rank its the best college i found out.

Placement Experience

Placementand is good 90% are got placed.

College Events

The biggest event is the yearly fest(both technical and cultural) and others lot of events are their.Like football tournament, cricket tournament, union freshers,independence day celebration etc. Our college has its own dance club, Music club, Table tennis club and so on.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Our IT fee structure is 24000/year if you are under TFW then no fees needed.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are good our college has total 4 hostel 3 for boys and 1 for girls hostel food is so but the hostel life is really a bag full of memory.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Yes maximum of them are very helpful and friendly but some of them are really bad.

Exam Structure

As I say faculties are to lazy so exam structure is not so hectic.

Faculty

Our faculties are not so good they are too lazy.I don't know how they get such jobs but This year our HOD is changes so we expect a better performance from our faculties.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

KGEC REVIEW

I gave West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination in 2024. I scored a decent rank but due to high cut off of this year I didn't get good branch in Jadavpur University.
