Remarks
The good aspects of this college are: spacious classes with good ventilation, plethora of events, one of the best canteens (in aided colleges), best-in-class and supportive faculty, conceptual clarity and extra lectures for better understanding, a wide quadrangle (suitable for the annual fest), the punctual and proper procedure for railway/bus concession application, dedicated college office staff and admission conveners, safety measures, two highly equipped libraries (self-financed and aided), and two splendid auditoriums for congregational meetings, seminars, and workshops. There are no bad aspects as such. The college's infrastructure is the reason behind its preference over other colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
The reason behind my choice of this course is that the curriculum of B.Com and B.Com (A & F) is quite comprehensive and knowledge-oriented. The students develop their oratory, analytical, and presentation skills, through the various competitions conducted by different departments. The faculty: student ratio is quite good (being two teachers for each subject and three mentor teachers for each division - strength: 125). The highly qualified professional teachers have their own unique style of teaching and making the concepts clear. They make separate presentations for different topics and share the same through online classrooms. The term exams are always planned and conducted on time after the internal exams. Their difficulty level is less than moderate and the questions are related to practical scenarios.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for campus placements after the 5th Semester. Many finance and banking companies such as TCS, Reliance, and ICICI Bank offer placements for the aspirants. (It would be more beneficial if one has pursued any professional course or post-graduation course after B.Com.) Highest salary: Around Rs. 45,000 Average salary: Around Rs. 25,000 The percentage of students getting placements is around 40 - 50. I have pursued C.A. along with B.Com. - Regular.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for aided/self-financed courses have not been hiked much, and hence, the policies are not much prejudicing (even in case of reservations). The cost of the study is affordable for both aided and unaided courses, as practical knowledge can be obtained through highly experienced teachers. The college provides freeship forms for girls, and there are numerous scholarship schemes initiated by various stakeholders for the meritorious and needy students seeking financial assistance. I had been granted scholarship benefits under the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme (for meritorious students through N.S.P.).
Campus Life
The library contains most of the resources required for obtaining information on research papers, manuscripts, and other publications on any topic. The intriguing campus life represents a lot of new experiences and helps us explore new opportunities by meeting new people and managing our own time as well as by providing us with a plethora of activities and numerous events to choose from during the annual fest 'Dimensions' (conducted in December) and 'TechWizard' - the I.T. fest (conducted in July). The committees and clubs include Dimensions Committees, Cultural committee, English Literary Association (ELA), Marathi Vangmay Mandal, Veethee Vaze Rangakarmi, Gymkhana Committee and many more.
Other Applied Colleges
Mulund College of Commerce, Mulund (West) | Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)
The infrastructure of V.G. Vaze College was quite better than the other colleges.
