Remarks
The College is at good location with great infrastructure and professors are also good there and college organized guest lectures, Seminars, Industrial visits, and sports competitions etc. on a regular basis. But the placement is not for stream other than CSE/IT. And College asks for funding from students if college organizes industrial visits. Admission process is simple, not too complex, the admin staff will let you know all the process. You just have to verify your all related documents and fill their admission form online and pay the fees in the form of DD at that time (SBI Bank is inside campus), now everything is online.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum for Electrical Engineering is good and faculty are also good. The ratio in the class is 60 students, but in practical's there were only 30 students in practical later divided into groups of 5 students. So, there were six groups doing practical's at same time same subject and other 30 students have different subject practical at same time. All faculty members have minimum qualification of M.tech and their teaching methods were good, some of Teaching methods were excellent. There were total of 8 semester (6 months) and along with some Unit Test as well (2 unit Test per semester) .
Placement Experience
After third year, Company visit the campus for all students but mainly focus on students who knows languages like (c, c++, java. etc ) and only hire in software firm. Not for Electrical domain any company visit the campus. And later many companies visit to hire in sales profile.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have taken admission in 2016 and total fees for B.tech Rs. 4,06,400.00. And in First semester I have paid (85200). 2 nd SEM. (44000) and it's increased 500 every semester. Yes, there are Scholarships and Financial Assistance as well but only for domicile students of West Bengal.
Campus Life
Annual Cultural Fest (Zyzva) organized every year in month of February or March. And Tech Fest (Tesseract) organized every year. Books are available in library of GNIT. Classroom were also good. GNIT conducted every year many spots competition like in Cricket, Football, Badminton, Volleyball etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels were not that good. Just have basic facilities. ( No Wi-Fi, No Purified drinking water, etc.) Meal Quality were Ok & menu for non-Veg. Excellent, but for Vegetarians , they will have to adjust. Registration for hostel is simple just you have to pay (5000) as admission fees.
