Decent college with good culture and average placement

First of all this college is pretty good in campus placement among all colleges around Asansol as well as Paschim Bardhaman, service based companies like TCS, Infosys come every year for placement. Campus area is also decent enough as well as there is a lot of cultural community in this college. Downsides are firstly big product based companies don't come here for on-campus placement, next is- most students come here mostly from either West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand so culture isn't as rich as a tire-1 or tire-2 college. Except them everything is there like library, separate hostels, canteen, playground, basketball court, and all other. Admission is proceed through both JEE(main) and WBJEE at the time of August-September (currently delayed for pandemic and lockdown situation). It's not too tough to get chance here with 30000 rank in WBJEE. This college is quite popular among Asansol. Also activities and initiatives are often get published by local newspapers, and magazines.

In Asansol Engineering College the Computer Science of Engineering dept. has higher placement rate than other departments, also students have a community about studies along with seniors and with IT department too. Teachers are supportive and encourage students to gain knowledge from external sources also. There is more than 120 teachers for 5000+ students. 1st year is divided among 6 groups consists approximately 30 students each. Every department has a mentor and a coordinator. Maximum teachers have PhD degree. In every semester college holds two centralized class test toughness is in moderate level. And a part of CA marks is decided trough this. Beside them teachers may take some tests to inspect the class.

A few companies comes in this college where only 3rd year students can sit. Some companies are TCS, Capgemini etc. Stipend is around 10000-20000 INR. They gives some projects like to manage database, to design a programme or to develop a logical algorithm for any program. But some other companies give tasks related to backend web development etc.

College have both campus internship and campus placement both where internship is for only 3rd year students and on-campus placement e tests for 4th year students. A lot of service based IT companies comes here for campus placement like in 2019 TCS alone placed more than 30 students for job beside of that wipro, Mindtree, Capgemini comes here frequently for recruitment. Highest package is 9 LPA offered by Capgemini in 2019 and average pages is 4 LPA. Student placement rate is 73% in this college till now. As our college don't have any record of on-campus placement from big product based companies, so my plan is to look for off-campus placement, but before that I'll tray to get a good internship from a decent company aa there is a chance to get PPO from them.

Total frees for 4 years of journey is 4.3lakh. In 8 semesters this amount is divided in approximately 50000. Fees have to be paid within the end of current semester but one good thing is if anyone is unable to pay it on time college consider it and no late fee would be charged. In about scholarship college is a partner of Idea-O-meter organization, so, if any students suggests a good project idea college reward a stipend to support him through Idea-O-meter. Service based companies come every year for mass recruitment but bad thing it no product based companies come here for recruitment. TCS do a mass recruitment every year. One more bad thing is most of the IT based companies comes here but a few other companies comes for other departments.

Here is a good community bond along with seniors and other department students so, many events are held by seniors which gives strength to this bond. Several fests and events also held by college like in January 'JIS Samman-2021' from JIS group was initiated where many events are held like music, vocal, dance, band, drama, drawing, web design etc. College have it's own magazine which get published every year and a lot of wall magazines are there too. Every year college held a sports Competition but currently it's get halt due to lockdown also tree plantation programme get initiate every year. There is a lot of Authorized community in our college like Hardware club, Tech club, Rhetoric club, PANACHE(AEC) club etc run by students.
