Remarks

Being everything online this year, I have witnessed both pros and cons of college and online education. The faculty as expected is very nice and knowledgeable and teaches everything with utmost purity. I have not witnessed any moment when I had a doubt and not got it cleared from my teachers. The admission process was also online this year and made us wait for the cutoff list to come every Friday night so that we could fill up the admission forms and submit the first semester fees by the next Thursday night. I preferred SRCC over any other college in DU because it was my long-time dream to land up in SRCC after my boards. The name itself is a reason for anyone to chose it. The faculty, facilities, extra curriculums, and the fact that one would have a lot of secure future than a student from any other college except SRCC made me make my choices. It definitely has everything a commerce student needs! www.qoura.com has been of great help for me to understand better and make my choices.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am from a commerce background and the first thing I could think of to do was B.Com Hons. it is not only reputed in society but also provides greater opportunities in the future. Understanding the corporate world is something I am keenly interested in and wanted to follow it further. The SRCC faculty is quite knowledgeable and kind. We have around 50 students in a class and a teacher most probably takes 2-3 classes. So it makes a teacher cater to the needs of 100-150 students in a day. The faculty has great knowledge and degrees up to Ph.D. in their respective fields. We have professors who have their own books written that students study all over India. The teaching method we witness is quite blurring because it's very different in online mode. But still, we feel very confident when we learn from our teachers. We had our 'Open Book" exams after 5 months from the beginning of the classes. It was moderate. Some questions were pretty easy while some were difficult to crack.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internships provided are highly dependable and also provide stipends sometimes. The internships are from both startups and established companies. Established companies like Urban Company and startups like Shiksha yatra offer internships with stipends. They offer demands various things depending upon personal interests and skills like research, content creation, marketing, organizing, etc.

Placement Experience

4

Our placement cell is active throughout the year with providing not only internships but also placements after graduation. The eligibility is for both Bcom Hons and Eco Hons. The highest package that was offered last year was 33 lakhs. I plan to do pursue an MBA degree after my bachelor's.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees I had to pay this semester were Rs. 14,875 this semester. It was quite affordable for me and I think it is not too much for many people. because it's online I have saved a lot of money that could have been spent on living and daily needs. which could easily cost up to 30,000 and more monthly. But the college is affordable. Despite these fees, the college provides scholarships to students who belong to underprivileged families and can do well if provided proper facilities. The placement cell of the college provides us with many certified paid and unpaid internship opportunities with a stipend ranging from 2,000 to 20,000 as well It also ensures the proper placement of the third-year students to well-settled jobs.

Campus Life

3.5

I personally have not gone to my college till now. But we have witnessed various annual fests and competitions of almost all the societies of our college. The zeal and enthusiasm to be expected in fests were sorely missed but online was no less. Ranging from speaker sessions to interesting competitions like cooking and photography, it was an all-in-one combo. With around 10 registered and more than 20 unregistered societies, SRCC is a hub of extracurriculars. From planning to working on live ongoing projects to serve the society, SRCC has a plethora of student collaborations that ensure everyone learns the basics of living in the outer world.

Other Applied Colleges

Hansraj College, Delhi University | B.Com Hons.

I applies for SRCC rather than Hansraj because of the better faculty in SRCC, and the fame and name SRCC has, for both its faculty and facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
