College of Engineering Bhubaneswar is an engineering college with courses like MBA, MCA, B.TECH, Diploma. All the departments have been enthusiastically engaged in quality teaching. The college is dedicated to providing an innovative environment for the betterment of students. The college has great faculties with high qualifications. Most faculties are contributor facilities that provide extra learnings until the student is clear on the topic. The college is popular for its strong record on placements. The college has its own library so students don't have to buy books they can issue them for free, it has gym, cafeteria, well-equipped laboratories. The admission is held on the basis of 10 +2level education above 75% with valid JEE,OJEE,CAT marks. The admission process usually takes place in the months of June to July and the session starts from around the 5th of August with an induction program . Due to all these facilities, I chose this college over other colleges.

As the era of technology will never fade out also I wanted to pursue computer studies to enter into technical world hence I chose this course. The faculty-student ratio in our college is 1:20. The faculties are really friendly and give effective teachings. The college has assigned faculties as proctors. Each proctor has 20 students and they guide these students based on studies or any other matter. The facilities are highly qualified professors who apply effective and efficient learning techniques to teach. They provide timely notes and class tests are also conducted. Each year has 2 semesters. Odd which is held during December and even which is held during the end of April. The difficulty level of the exams is from easy to medium. A student who attends all the classes and easily score 80% in semester.

The companies like blue prism , cisco provide opportunities for internships to students. Earlier students got more internships than today. Recently Blue prism had come for providing an internship. The students had to learn their provided course of 2 months and qualify for the entrance. If qualified they will be provided with internships in their companies. Currently, I am in the 6th semester so I have no experience regarding internships.

The students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester onwards. Companies like Ajatus, Byjus, Wipro , Infosys offer placement opportunities in our college. The placement rate has deteriorated over the past 5 years. Earlier 50 %-80%students were placed but now only 20%-30%are placed. Earlier the highest package was 10 LPA and the average package was 4LPA. Now the rate has decreased greatly. The college still tries its best to bring companies. Earlier the placements were more of on-campus placements but now it's mostly off campus. The training and placement cell hence prepares students for the recruitment process and selects the best students and gets them placed. After getting the degree I would be applying for interviews on the technical line off-campus and side by side I would do my higher studies like M.TECH.

The fee structure varies from student to student as the college provides discounts on students whose father's monthly income is less than INR 40000. Hence the course is quite affordable for the students. The mode of payment can be cash or cheque. For each semester paper, registration fees are INR1550 . The college provides opportunities to students for getting scholarships in Medhrabruti scheme that by the government of Odisha . A few years earlier the college was getting more companies to hire their students but now it has decreased to a level. The college gets hiring offers from companies like Ajatus, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Byjus on campus but now the students have to apply for these off-campus with other colleges. Now only some companies come to hire students. The college tries its best to get more and more companies to get 100 % placement of the students.

The college conducts a tech-fest every year in the month of February. The fest includes various inter college and intra college competitions like coding round, robot making, general knowledge quiz competitions, essay writing competitions in cse department , dance , singing abd competitions like tug war were also conducted. The college has it own library where it has 2516 books in total including 10 national journals , course books , mannuals , projects , question banks, cd dvds of NPTEL courses . It haa international journals also. The college has 28 classrooms in total including e -classrooms in all departments. The classrooms are spacious and well equipped with benches, tables, chairs, and board. The classrooms have natural lights due to large windows and cameras installed in every classroom. There are 4 courts for volleyball, Cricket, basketball, badminton. It has a sports room for equipment that is issued by students and a gym for students to stay fit .

The hostel rooms are spacious with 4 students in each room. It has 4 beds , 4 tables, chairs and shelves in each room. There are good light facilities with fast-moving fans. The rooms are cleaned every day. Dustbins are provided on every floor. Wtaer filter with coolant is also provided. The quality of meals is not very good. Some days the food tastes good but some days it doesn't. The menu is decided by the warden. Registration in a hostel is done after the admission process. The hostel fees per month depend upon the rooms, bathroom attached rooms are for INR 7000 and non-bathroom rooms are for INR4000. The hostel has 2 wardens and 1 superintendent who take care of the grievances if the students ny maintaining registers. The students are allowed to go out with the pass only which is signed by warden . Everyday attendance is taken. There is a hostel canteen where students sit and eat in the dining area. The hostel conducts festivals and functions also.
