Remarks
I have availed for the course of Electronics And Communication in the RCC Institute Of Technology. I got admission to this college after giving WBJEE and through the process of WBJEE counselling. I selected many more colleges on the list but got this college according to my WBJEE rank. Admission to this college is feasible if someone gets a rank in WBJEE within 10K.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course of Electronics And Communication Engineering in this college because the course is quite good to get a job in both in core and out core IT companies. The student ratio of my department of ECE is 1:1, which consists of 60 students in each of the two sections. The qualification and teaching method of the faculty members are quite good. Most of them have done advanced research in their respective teaching subjects. Most of the teachers have completed PhD and are mostly from Jadavpur University or the University of Calcutta. Examinations are held twice a year according to the rule of MAKAUT University. The level of examinations is moderate.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are provided by the college mainly under start-up companies and mostly the students work as a freelancer for 3-4 months. Projects are also done under many online platforms like Nasscom, Nptel, Edex and so on. I being a student of the first year being not much knowledgeable about the paid internships.
Placement Experience
The placements provided to the students is quite impressive. A lot of IT companies, hardware companies, core companies come for recruiting. The students become eligible for on-campus placements at the end of the 6th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, CTS, IBM, Johnson Controls and many other companies visit the college for recruiting. Mainly mass recruitment takes place. Yearly about 70-75% of the students get a job through on-campus placement. Averagely they get a job of salary ranging from 3.6 - 4.8 LPA. The highest packages provided by any company ranges from 7-8 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are 40000 rupees per semester on averagely. Though I think the semester fees are less for the people eligible under TFW. I am not very sure about any scholarships available. The job availability on-campus is quite good according to my knowledge.
Campus Life
The college has two campuses-old and new. The new campus is the main campus presently. The college campus is quite big. It has a six-storeyed building surrounding two fields in the middle. The college classes are quite big and the teachers teach in the class quite efficiently. The college has a free source to its library and e-library for borrowing books and gathering information. There are many clubs formed by the college and also by the college students such as The Coding Club-RCCTechz, The Rotaract Club Of RCCIIT, The Cine Club and so on. The college also conducts cultural fests, technical fests and other events. One of the popular fest conducted by this college is Regalia.
