Remarks
The options which I chose were Heritage University, Meghnad Saha College, BP Poddar, Techno Main College, Narula Institute of Technology, RCCIIT, IEM, etc. But for the colleges like IEM, Techno Main, the cut-off marks were very low, i.e. applicable for good students in almost all streams. Whereas in the case of Narula, Guru Nanak, the cut-off marks are too high i.e. the students who are very bad in studies can also get admission to those colleges. So I gave RCCIIT a preferred option as the cut-off marks are within the rank which I got in the WBJEE exam. So if you want to get admission to RCCIIT through the WBJEE exam, your overall rank should be 20000 whatever be the stream you want to take. So these are the minimum marks. The admission process was overall good although it was a bit lengthy. The counseling day was indeed a day with lots of hope and tension, especially for our parents. You can also get admission to the college through JEE Mains score as well. And it is a government-sponsored college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering because after CSE and IT is the most valued stream in today's market. Also, I have a deep interest in making gadgets, and some way or the other I'm managing to learn it. The faculty-student ratio is 1:40 which is pretty good. Most of the faculties have done Ph.D. and many of them are from Jadavpur University. The teachers are very student-friendly and their teaching methods are very satisfactory. If you listen to their lectures carefully then you will feel easy in every subject. The teachers always try to do their best so that no student finds any difficulty during their semester exam. Semester exams are held every 6 months. The difficulty level of the exams is moderate. Just you need to study a little bit thoroughly to crack the exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Per year the cost is 80000. So for 4 years, you require a total of 320000. The scholarship opportunity is also good here. Also, the college has a link with organizations like Internshala which provides internship opportunities in many notable companies.
Campus Life
Every year 3 to 4 annual fests are held. The most popular event is the Techtrix. It is an event where everyone can show their skills in singing, dancing, poetry, etc. Now also after a few days, a great event will be held in the college named Discon 21 where notable performers will come and there will be more than 15 plus live concerts. Besides cricket, football tournaments are also held every year. There are many different clubs as well which are run by senior students like the Rotaract Club and the coding club named RccTechz. And those clubs are really very educational as well as motivational for all the junior students. Also for all the first-year students the freshers are also organized every year to give the newly admitted students an idea about their new journey of life.
