Remarks
I first applied for govt colleges I which I didn't get any seat rather I also wanted to study outside of the state so luckily I got a seat in NIST in Berhampur. The admission process was in online mode due to pandemic situation and every went out well for me without any problems. I dont remember the criterias as it was kind much before but at the time I was 18 and I got 62% marks in 12th i also applied for ojee through which i got the admission seat.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BTech in CSE branch as I always wanted to be a software engineer like it was my dream and the best way to achieve it was by choosing this course. The faculties are enough to handle/teach all the students without any compromise in teaching style or behaviour. The teachers are very cooperative and they teach in the best way possible. I alone can understand every bit of things they say/teach. The max of the faculties are phd degree holders and some are in research in their desired fields. They follow a sort of rule called INVERSE MAPPING in which it says the senior prof in the institute are assigned to the junior students so that they can become mature and handle things from next years onwards more easily which I believe to be is a fantastic way of teaching bachelor students. 2 exams per semester are mid sem and end sem. It was easy to pass but very difficult to bring full marks. It was little bit challenging which is good as it will help us in future.
Placement Experience
From the 6th sem onwards the students are eligible for campus placements. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Microsoft and many others visit here. The max offers are around Rs 12.7 lakhs per annum package and the average is around Rs 60000 per month. The students should have a percentage of more than 80% and should have no back papers in order to eligible for the campus placement. I'm planning to sit the campus placements so I can get a good job for my future ahead.
Fees and Financial Aid
The first year fees are rs 1,24,000. From 2nd onwards upto 4th years per year fees are rs 1,18,000. A huge no. of scholarships are available for eligible students which are good for those who have weak financial support. Some of the scholarships are E-Medhabruti, NSP, etc I am a junior so I haven't got placements yet but according to our seniors, the placement is very good as 80 to 85% of students get jobs by the end of their BTech carrier which is too very good.
Campus Life
I am a first-year student and the year is not at the end so there is no annual fest conducted (but will be conducted at the end of this year) but according to our seniors the annual fest is way better than any other colleges and it mostly conducted in January month. There is a huge library with all the facilities readily available for students and there is much more than that. all kinds of books are available in the library which can be borrowed by showing the id card on the counter. There is a gym and a swimming pool and there are a variety of clubs in which students work regarding the respective club topics and all.
Hostel Facilities
The registration process was easy for hostels they sent us a google form regarding opting for hostel facilities which were very easy to do and its affordable that's Rs10000 per year and some extra charges for our meals and some times the food we eat outside the hostel if we dont like or we did shopping etc. There aren't any facilities near the college for 18km nearby so I dont kind of have any idea about renting.
