The admission process is easy as I have entered through anna university counselling through government quota. I thought to apply for Jerusalem college in Chennai but they don't have a hostel soo I didn't choose that college. Before the day of counselling, I have already searched thoroughly for the details of SRM VALLIAMMAI ENGINEERING. As the campus has various opportunities not only for studies but also for extracurricular activities and sports. On the day of counselling, I have only chosen this college.

I have always had an interest in building and its design. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend the architectural exams soo I have to opt for Civil Engineering. As I am from the Civil department the faculty staffs from our department are friendly and guide us with different ideas regarding our course and they also conduct various guest lectures for higher studies, exams, jobs even through this pandemic our department staff work hard to conduct guest lectures from various civil engineering companies to improve our knowledge. Our faculty help throughout projects, conferences and symposium outside the college also. Our faculty not only teach us from the book but also recent trends on civil engineering technology and its development. Theories are explained through the Presentation and also faculty let u prepare for presentation on different topics from the subject for our skills development. The question bank is provided on our college website for periodical exams that conducted for internal marks.

The internship process is requested through us to the company and permission is requested through college. Many projects done by students are provided with scholarship through the company and the outcome of the project has major benefits to students.

Placement is provided from the 3rd year even semester of students with no arrear or with 1or 2 areas. Companies like Accenture, Wipro, etc with 3.5 LPA - 10.5 LPA is provided by these companies. Above 95% of students is placed during campus interview. My plans after getting a degree are higher studies.

Depending upon the course it various for BE and B.Tech. As I studied B.E civil engineering tution fees is 50,000 and others fees is 25,000 for MBC. There is also some scholarship for the first graduate, girl child only and other castes. College also provides us some time for late fees payment with the permission of principal with a reasonable mention for delay of fees payment. As our college provides placement classes many companies like Accenture, Wipro, etc are conducting campus interview many students likely to get a job by attending placement classes.

Our college has various sports opportunity and also sports scholarship, sports quota. They also provide on-duty for sports outside the college. Evening 4 pm-5 pm is sports practice and our college has also won many sports awards and also during college annual day anybody can participate in sports according to there houses separated and conducted by our staff members. There are also many clubs like YRC, NCC, Tamil man dream etc and student participation in the College youtube channel and show their talents. Our college has a website and Instagram page and the upcoming events are updated in these and also circular is provided through all classes. YRC has also done some camp every Saturday of the week to improve social awareness to people on recent trends.

The hostel is affordable to everyone with 3meal/day course with morning and evening snacks tea, coffee and milk, bread, butter also kept regularly for everyone. Meal quality is okay. The menu has different varieties of food including veg and non-veg. Non-vegetarian (chicken/fish) is on Wednesday night and Sundays afternoon. Even for veg, there are mushroom, paneer, cauliflower with the various course. The registration is done in-office and confirmation are done by senior wardens. The hostel has an attached bathroom and non-attached bathroom with 24 hrs water facilities and cleaning is regularly done for rooms and bathrooms, laundry is also available, washing stones of self-washing with a separate washing area. The hostel also allows outside food during particular timing like swiggy, zomato, etc. The hostel doesn't have AC rooms. Study hours are on weekdays.Hostelhhas24hrs wifi with 1GB/day. There are also PG in the Surrounding area near other, urapakam, guduvancherry with TV, wifi, food with or with out AC.
