Remarks
The admission process was not that difficult, there was a group discussion for 10 minutes. The GD was conducted with a group of 8 students at a time. The topics they pic for GD was a social topic and it was a healthy group discussion.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very much suitable with corporate requirements, but there are also some irrelevant subjects which we had to study. The Faculty is very good and experienced but management is quite unimpressive, especially at the time of covid, they are trying to impose the hardcore decisions made all the time. The Faculty to student ratio is about 8:1 Almost the entire faculty is highly experienced and no doubt regarding the quality of education JIMS provide. JIMS is very serious about their exams even in the online mode, they are very punctual with their schedules and the for me as an average student, I need to study around 4-5 hours during exams to pass. So it's not like you're completely going unprepared and still managing to pass.
Internships Opportunities
There are around 100 companies that came for SIP and I'm working with ITC, my friends are working in some start-ups and some are working with big brands like CBRE, ICICI, Airtel, Berger. On average the stipend is 5k per month Different SIP have different projects, most of them usually sales, in my internship, I have to make a report on Driving niche categories in MT retail chains in ITC.
Placement Experience
There is a trimester system which means you'll be having 3 trimesters in a year and a total of 6 trimesters during your 2 years PGDM. Placements will start in the 4th trimester. There is the combination of big brand names and startup which usually come for the Placements, brands like ITC, ICICI, Outlook, The Seekers, Airtel, Reckitt Benckiser, Amazon are few examples. Around 80% of students get placements easily. My plans after getting a degree include, I'll be working with an MNC and side-by-side I'll be investing in stocks.
Fees and Financial Aid
Considering the pandemic, the fees are quite more to the value it holds. But it's a good deal considering the final placements. I got selected as the Marketing Intern with ITC on a fair amount of stipend.
Campus Life
Since it was covid this year, so there were no fests, books and journals are easily available and classrooms are airy, spacious and with good infra. There is no sports or other extra curriculum reason being covid (It was there at the time of our seniors) and hopefully, at the time of juniors, it is going to be there as well. There are many clubs and groups running for and by the students like Marketing Group, NSS Club, Entrepreneurship Cell, Finance Club, HR Club etc.
Interview Experience
My topic of the GD was: Increasing Hinduism, a threat to democracy while the topic for another group was CAA. You need to have a minimum of 50% in your graduation and fulfil the basic criteria of scores in the qualifying exams (CAT, MAT etc.) Then there'll be a GD round, and finally, there will be a personal interview with basic questions related to yourself, your education, your family and your city or state.
