Remarks
I chose it because it didn't have the mandatory attendance required like in regular and NCWEB. Moreover, it was less time consuming as the classes started in the month of nov and ended in the month of march, that too only on sundays and public holidays. The allocated us the colleges where our classes would be held like my classes were held in the Faculty of Education (CIE)- DU itself. The professors were really good and encouraging. The students and the staff members also had good behaviour towards us. Overall it was a really good experience. Last year I've graduated and when I had started my third they had introduced semesters instead of annual examinations. The study material provided by them is best, even if you don't have books obe can rely on them.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I've always had interest in literature. The student ratio would be like 2:1. The professors are highly qualified and most of them have Dr. In fron of their names. The exams were held timely as we didn't have a proper college of our own so we were sent to different colleges for our examinations. It was not that difficult to pass but since it is SOL so there are some limitations set by the governed bodies i.e. we SOL students could not get more than 60% in our exams no matter how good we give our exam.
Placement Experience
To be honest, I didn't get the chance to view such stuff as the corona was at it's peak and the university was closed temporarily. But the companies only come for B.Com students after their degree is done.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The scholarship i don't think we have that but there might be some possibility of it but I'm not so sure. The course is completely affordable as you have to pay per annum, and it is really less because of the fact that it's a government university. Regarding the job, I've not got it yet but there were selections going on and we were receiving messages from the campus site, but due to corona the job chances have been lowered.
Campus Life
There are no fests, no farewell parties or such kind of stuff in SOL. However, we along with our id cards can go to DU colleges fests that are held annually. Regarding the library we do have our own liberary and we can issue books and study them. They're readily available but it's open only on 5 days sat and sun it's closed. There are no such activities on the campus but we cab do sports in the colleges provided by them. There is no website run by students for students, the only website is handled by the SOL staff, where we get our own stuff like our id card, marksheet, results, provisional certificate and even admit card.
