My Life at Poornima University

I chose this university because my cousin also studied here and spoke highly of it. And after graduating he got placed with a very good package in TCS. It is also the best private university in Rajasthan according to data, he said. So when my scores were good enough for Poornima, I decided to apply here. I registered myself through their online portal and paid the 1200 rupee application fee. After that the process was pretty simple, I just had to upload the documentation and was selected in the merit list.

In my department, we get the opportunity to learn artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, data science, natural language processing, computer networking, computer security and privacy, and much more. Our courses, I found out after the summer internship, are industry-led and designed after consulting experts and academic leaders maintaining the Accreditation Standards. Most of our seniors work at tech companies around the world, from large tech titans to the smallest startups. Our professors are really helpful, they push us to excel in a variety of careers and make a positive impact in the world. We also get assigned projects to gain hands-on experience and develop leadership skills, in which we are guided the entire way by our advisors.

We actually have mandatory semester long and summer internships to gain vast industry exposure. And some extraordinary I heard this year was that our university has a 110% placement track record. This is great because in case I do not want to go into research I know that I have a secure future. The highest packages this year I think was 15 lakhs per annum and the average was 6 lakhs per annum which is pretty great for freshers.

My semester fee is around 70000 rupees which means the annual tuition fees are somewhere around 150000. But we actually have a very comprehensive scholarship scheme that give waivers by merit. According to that, I get a 25% waiver on my tuition fee (more than 80% in 10+2) There are also other scholarship schemes like the Gayatri Girls scholarship scheme, one for the wards of martyrs, Transgender students and so on.

We have a lot of things In campus which allows us to make the most of our time here. In 2019, there was the I nternational Conference on Recent Trends and Innovations in Engineering, Science and Technology and in July last year we had the International Online Conference on Emerging Trends in Multi-Disciplinary Research MDR-2020. It was a very good learning experience for me as I want to go into research. We also have major events like Diwali Celebration, Holi Celebration, Navratri celebration, Saraswati pooja and so on which are a lot of fun.
