Among the available choices.IIIT Bhubaneswar was best when it comes to avg package and quality of study. Infrastructure is no so good but hostel is residential. Also the avg package and highest package increased every year and good companies visit the campus . In the current passing year(2020) highest on campus package was around 40 lpa in Microsoft which is awesome.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is well defined and since it is its own University so it conducts its own exam.There is no concept of internal and external exam just semester exam and mid sem quizzes which are less hectic. Most of the faculty is poat graduated from premiere institutions Like IIT but good profs.are few and one needs to put in extra effort in certain subjects. Since I am a IT grad so regarding competitive programming amd coding culture .it is not s good s other IITs and NITs .but it depends more on the individual approach and effort of the student. Having said that there are some good profs and assistant profs.who can help you publish your research paper or help in top level projects related to IOT/ Networking/ Electronics etc.
Internships Opportunities
Yes Internship opportunities are there but not much.Companies like Aptus,Dell,Quantiphi have hired interns in third year. Also many students go for internship at colleges like IIT and thet easily get recommendations. Since we get a good summer vacation of 3 months every year so students can go for internship every year and learn a lot from there.
Placement Experience
Every body get employeed as companies like Infosys , lti , TCS do bulk hiring. So there is no problem with placement . For higher salary competition is there . Highest package in 2020 was 40lpa in Microsoft but only 1 student got it . It depends on the capability od the student to get good package. Dell also has a good tie up and a decent amount od students get selected every year from college at package of 8lpa
Fee Structure And Facilities
On campus companies are abundant . It starts from infosys,Comviva,LTI,dell and can end at McKenzie , Direct eye Quantiphi, Tiger Analytics ,Informatica,Turtlemint offering awesome packages upto 13-15 lpa. It depends on the student to excel.
Campus Life
The institute is in Khudra and miles away from main city so one needs to take bus(clg bus is provided with coupons) to go to the city so social life is not so good. Yes there are different clubs where students can participate.From Art to Singing to dancing to tech all clubs are very active . There is annual fest Advaita which is one of the best considered in Odisha . Many events occur (continuous 4 day dj nights , cultural fests .inter clg competition) ,tech nova and much more . Apart from annual fess there are also other cultural events - Diwali, Tasveer, Durga puja , literary fest .
Admission
No there were no interviews. The selection was done through JOSAA and were based on the mains marks solely. There is state level quota for Odisha students as well. The cut off for general candidates in year 2016 for CS/IT was around 145 (mains)
